Description
Rolling Stones Japanese Gold Disc
This is a genuine Gold Disc Award from 1984 for sales in Japan of The Rolling Stone’s album, ‘Undercover’. This award measures 17x20 inches (44x50cms) and is encased in a lovely solid wood frame that’s 1½ inches (4cms) deep. The gold record itself, is actually a metal disc (stamper) from the manufacturing process. This makes this award particularly impressive, as the equivalent RIAA/BPI awards would’ve just used regular vinyl.
The award is in very good condition. There’s a couple of tiny chips on the top edge of the frame, but these are very minor and certainly doesn’t detract from the stunning appearance of this award. The plaque mounted below the record reads:

I obtained this award directly from someone who worked at an EMI office that was closed in the late 1980s. It’s one of approximately half a dozen that were made, with each band member being presented with one. Therefore, it’s actually rarer, and more impressive, than the equivalent RIAA award.
A one-off opportunity to own a stunning piece of Stones memorabilia.

The item can be collected in person, or shipped for £20 (including full insurance) within the UK. Other destinations will be charged at cost (probably £40-£90 because of the cost of insuring such a high value item) so please ask for an estimate.

Preferred payment is by cheque or bankers draft in UK Pounds. Paypal will also be accepted, however, if you have an unconfirmed address, then you will need to contact me before placing your bid. Cash can also be accepted, but only if the item is personally collected.
