The Rolling Stones : Let It Bleed 2A / 1A Mono + Mint Original Poster
This 2A/1A mono pressing I am sure would be sold as a first pressing by many as it is on the famous unboxed red Decca label but I will err on the side of caution and deem it a second press. There are a few 1A/1A pressings out there although they may of course have been pressed at the same time. This is one of the cleanest mono pressings I have seen in many a year and the impressive quality of the audio reflects that. Indeed much of it plays to a Near Mint standard but with a little interference on S2, a full grading is given below.
It has only ever been sparingly played as there is not that much spindle wear at all. Whilst S1 plays with stunning audio, 'You Can't Always Get What You Want' on S2 is also of an extremely high standard.
The original stickered cover is in excellent condition with only minor wear and includes the original red mono inner with the correct 'London Bach Choir' credit. The famous poster is in pristine Mint condition.

Visual grading
This vinyl is remarkably clean and retains an amazing glossy sheen. It has been so well preserved down the years and has only ever been lightly played judging by the spindle wear. There are only 4/5 faint spindle traces on S1 and just a little more on S2. Visually S1 is stunning and has only a couple of very faint hairlines - probably the cleanest S1 I have ever seen on a mono version! S2 does have a couple of short hairlines that are a little more prominent and 4/5 tiny faint hairlines also but it is still in lovely condition and not heavily marked like so many. There are no scratches on either side. Unlike so many Stones' LPs it was not taken to parties and played to death in the late 60s/early 70s and there is no groove wear or radial lines either. It really is a stunning example and the labels and run out grooves are also incredibly clean.
Play grading
'Gimme Shelter' has only a minimal amount of static on the intro and plays very clearly with no clicks or pops. For the opening few grooves to play with such impressive clarity is a rarity. As the volume 'picks up' and Jagger's vocal comes in the playback is stunning and bass is so incredibly strong. There is just the odd mega light static sound but in no way is it intrusive. The depth of the audio is superb and there is no 'muddiness' to the sound whatsoever. The vocals are so clear and this grades as Near Mint- in my opinion. The fade out is perfect with no 'background' at all. A stunning version overall.
The acoustic intro on 'Love In Vain' will often have a fair amount of interference on these early mono pressings as it is just so quiet. Not here! There are only 3/4 light dust ticks and as the vocal begins the clarity is the same. As it continues you cannot fail but be impressed by the stunning quality of the audio. There is the odd light static sound but they are not clicks nor crackle either! There is nothing to detract from the audio and any 'background' is negligible. The mandolin section plays with incredible precision and to the end the track plays with wonderful clarity and warmth. This is undoubtedly one of the 'cleanest' versions of this track that I have heard in a long time with not one single click or pop!
The 'Country Honk' intro is 'as new' and there are just a couple of gentle ticks just before the vocal comes in. From then on it plays with great clarity and there is no sign of any distortion at all. There are a few light ticks but they are so much in the background as to be inconsequential and they do not interfere with the music. I do sit very close to the speakers so as to hear any imperfection however minor. A very impressive version with minimal 'background' and I do mean minimal!
The bass intro on 'Live With Me' is stunning with only 3/4 very light dust ticks. Thereafter you could wish for a stronger version, the playback is sensational! This honestly plays 'as new' for the vast majority although I did hear one faint click right at the end of stunning saxophone section. Aside from that this is Near Mint without doubt and as Stones' collector knows the bass is just incredible on a well preserved copy such as this. I am just blown away by the power and clarity on offer here and the fade out is just perfect in every way, no 'background' at all. What an amazing, 'high end' version!
'Let It Bleed' plays with perfect clarity from the very first note. From then on I cannot emphasise enough just how beautifully this track plays. This is audio of the highest standard and there is just no interference at all. I listen to every second of any vinyl I sell so as to provide a comprehensive grading and this is just pure Mint- audio in every way. There is no distortion which is a rarity of any final track and especially on a mono pressing. Every second of this classic plays with a clarity and strength that is just so rarely heard today and the fade out has, you guessed it, no 'background'. This is a truly spectacular ending to the side.

'Midnight Rambler' unfortunately has six clicks at the very start but I cannot see what is causing it. Thereafter it plays with stunning depth and only the lightest of background static every now and then. Again there is deep rich bass sound and the definition of each note here is very impressive. The long instrumental section is absolutely stunning and is practically 'as new' and I don't think I've heard it play as strongly as this. Wow! The following quieter section does not disappoint either and has only has 3/4 seconds of obvious static but then it is still light. The vocal in this section plays supremely well with barely any 'background', it is superb. The remainder just 'knocks you out'! The power is immense, woah this is so impressive! So much of this classic grades as Near Mint but there are a couple of sections that fall below this grading and that includes the first five seconds of the intro. However, many sections do plays 'as new'.
'You Got The Silver' has light static on the intro only and plays very clearly indeed. From that point on it plays with wonderful clarity and depth and there is no intrusive 'background' at all. There are so many quiet sections and yet they all play so well with only a modicum of mega light static and no clicks or pops. The louder end section displays audio of great power and no interference, just a hint of static on the final note.
'Monkey Man' has five static clicks on the intro and then plays with great power and resonance. The vocal is so strong and there is no distortion at all. There is no persistent static, just the odd mega light static sound and overall this is a very impressive version. The instrumental section plays incredibly well but as Jagger's vocal comes back in there are a handful of light clicks but they are largely lost in the music. The fade out also has small number of light ticks. I would say this grades as Ex+ overall apart from the intro of course.
The classic choral intro on 'You Can't Always Get What You Want' has only light static and plays very clearly with 3,4 seconds of light crackle also. The acoustic section then impresses with excellent quality and as the vocal begins this wonderful clarity continues. There are no clicks or pops, nothing intrudes on the superb quality of the listen. Once the volume increases and the percussion 'kicks in' the playback is easily of Mint- quality. It is a rare to hear this track playing with such quality on a mono press and I am pleased to say it continues in the same way. The sonic quality is astounding and there is no distortion on the top end at all. It sounds fantastic! This is such a 'clean' and powerful version and will impress any avid collector. It plays to the same immaculate standard to the very end with no 'background' of any kind. This final 'choir' section so often has some distortion but that is not the case here and I cannot stress enough just how stunning and precise this section is. Much like the rest of the track! The crescendo choral section at the end is just sublime and I have never heard better! There is just one click on the fade out and a little static but this is without doubt a stunning version of this classic and provides a superb end to the album.
In summary this mega early mono pressing plays with superb audio quality for the vast majority and visually it is very impressive indeed. As I have said there is very little spindle wear and this is reflected in the audio. Admittedly there are a small number of clicks on S2 but they are only on two intros and the remainder of the audio plays to a very high standard. S1 in particular is absolutely stunning. There is also no distortion and that is a massive rarity for any mono record playing through a stereo system and gives another indication of the wonderful clarity and just how infrequently it has been played. The stickered cover is in excellent condition and together with a Mint poster you won't find many 2A/1A mono records better than this!
The Cover
This cover is in excellent condition with only a little shelf wear. It remains strong and robust and is not flimsy like so many. As per the first/early pressings it has the 'Full Color Rolling Stones Poster Included' sticker on the front cover which happens to be in superb shape. The edges and thin pinched spine are so clean and have no rubbing or marking and even the corners have hardly any wear, just a minor crease on the lower left corner. The opening edge has only the bare minimum of handling wear. The laminated front cover is in excellent order with only two faint scratch lines to the left and a couple of minor 'spots'. The laminate has no splits and you can just about see 3/4 very small crease lines next to the spine. The back cover is again very clean with only some light marking. For a cover that is fast approaching 50 years old it has been very well preserved and is certainly one of the cleanest you will find today.
Red Mono sleeve & Poster
The original red Decca mono sleeve has just one small split on the bottom edge but aside from that is in excellent condition with only light creasing. There are no marks and of course has the 'London Bach Choir' credit.
The original poster is stunning and is 'as new'. It looks like it has never been removed from the cover!
The labels
The unboxed red Decca labels have only a small amount of spindle wear and no marking or writing at all. They are in superb condition and the JT tax stamp can be seen on both run out grooves.
