The Rolling Stones : Let It Bleed 5W / 3W Unboxed Stereo + Mint Original Poster
This early stereo pressing is on the blue unboxed Decca label and has only a single stamper on each side.
The vinyl is visually stunning and the 'high end' quality of the audio reflects that. The vast majority is Near Mint although many would argue it is better than that!
The original cover is in great condition but is missing the original sticker and the blue inner is also very clean and has the 'London Bach Choir' blacked out. The famous poster is in pristine Mint condition.

Visual grading
The vinyl is in superb condition and at first looks 'as new' it has such an impressive glossy sheen. It is only on closer inspection that you can detect a small number of mega faint sleeve removal hairlines. They are incredibly difficult to spot! This record has been so well cared for down the years and has not been overplayed. There is some spindle wear but by no means a large amount. It is one of the cleanest unboxed stereo versions I have seen in a long time and the labels and run out grooves are also in lovely condition. A stunning example.
Play grading
The intro on 'Gimme Shelter' is stunning and has only a couple of light dust ticks. As the volume 'picks up' and Jagger's vocal comes in the clarity is nigh on perfect and the bass is so incredibly strong. As it continues there is no decrease in quality and the only 'background' is a small number of dust ticks again, nothing intrusive and they are barely audible if I'm honest. The depth of the audio is superb and there is no 'muddiness' to the sound whatsoever. The vocals are so clear and the track grades as Near Mint the playback is 'high end'. The fade out also plays with stunning precision.
With complete silence in the dead wax the acoustic intro on 'Love In Vain' then plays beautifully with barely any 'background'. There are a handful of mega light ticks as the vocal begins but they are not clicks! They are so minor and totally inconsequential and do not intrude on the quality of the listen. I only mention them to be 100% complete in my grading. As it continues you cannot fail but be impressed by the stunning quality of the audio. Yes the odd light dust tick but again nothing intrusive. The mandolin section is sublime and the remainder plays to the same standard with wonderful clarity and warmth. This is one of the 'cleanest' stereo versions of this track that I have heard in a long time.
The 'Country Honk' intro is 'as new' - wow it is stunning! As Jagger begins the audio remains super impressive and it continues to play to the same immaculate standard. Having now listened to this twice I can safely say it grades as Mint- as there is just no interference of any kind.
Woah the bass intro on 'Live With Me' could not play any better! From then on it plays with a quality that audiophiles can only dream of! You could not wish for a stronger version, the playback is astounding and is 'as new' from start to finish. My regular customers know I am not prone to exaggeration, I just write what I hear. This is Mint- and the bass again is just so strong in 'mix'. This is a stunning version and I am just blown away by the power and clarity on offer here. The fade out also plays with perfect precision.
'Let It Bleed' plays with perfect clarity from the very first note. From then on it plays with breathtaking precision and there is not a single click or pop and no static or crackle either. Perhaps just a hint of very minor distortion as you approach the end but then this is the final track. You can hear each note so clearly, the separation is just sublime. This is a truly spectacular ending to the side and again there is no interference on the fade out.

The intro on 'Midnight Rambler' plays perfectly with no 'background' at all. About one minute in there are a couple of faint 'ticks' but I wouldn't classify them as clicks. From then on the audio is stunning with a wonderfully deep rich sound. The long instrumental section is superb and the quiet section plays with great clarity and minimal static. As the pace picks up the audio is breathtaking! The power and clarity cannot be faulted and to the end it plays 'as new'.
'You Got The Silver' has intermittent light static on the intro but as soon as percussion comes in the audio is back to its best. Thereafter it plays so clearly with only the odd very gentle dust tick. The louder end section could not be any more impressive, there is just a hint of static on the final note.
'Monkey Man' is superb from the very first groove with only a couple of mega light static ticks and then plays with great power and resonance. The vocal is so strong and there is no distortion at all and it continues to play with immaculate quality. That also includes the instrumental section which is just stunning. The remainder does not disappoint and has no interference at all not even on the fade out. Another Near Mint track although the vast majority is better than that!
The classic choral intro on 'You Can't Always Get What You Want' has only the lightest of static and is a real joy to listen to. A minimal amount of static on the acoustic section and a little on the opening vocal but there is nothing that is intrusive, no clicks at all. Once the volume increases and the percussion 'kicks in' the playback is so impressive, there is no interference, and it carries on in the same way. The sonic quality is astounding and there is no distortion on the top end at all. This is such a 'clean' and powerful version and will impress any avid collector. As the 'choir' returns the audio is on the same level and as you approach the end you are just admiring the quality. There is perhaps a minimal hint of distortion on this end section but I'm not sure it even deserves a mention. The crescendo choral section at the end is just sublime and rarely have I heard better. There is one click as the fade out end but that hardly counts does it! A fantastic version of this classic and it provides a superb end to the album.
In summary this early unboxed Stereo album plays with fantastic clarity on both sides but S1 in particular is absolutely stunning. Don't get me wrong S2 still plays to a very high standard but with just a little non-intrusive static. There are no loud clicks or pops anywhere to be heard and no crackle either! The laminated cover is also in excellent condition as is the original inner and the poster is Mint.
The Cover
The laminated cover is in excellent condition with only minor shelf wear. It remains strong and robust and not flimsy like so many. The edges are in superb order with no rubbing and the thin pinched spine is equally as good and is still 100% legible. The corners have minimal wear although lower left just has a little more and the opening edge is super clean with minimal handling wear. The front cover has no marking and the laminate has no splits or lifting either, there are just four small creases on the right hand side. The original sticker is unfortunately no longer there. The back cover is also in great shape with only a couple of mega tiny marks. Overall a very impressive cover with only superficial wear.
Blue Inner Sleeve & Poster
The original Decca stereo sleeve has no side splits or marking just a little creasing here and there. As stated the 'London Bach Choir' credit has been blacked out.
The original poster is in superb condition and is 'as new'. It looks like it has never been removed from the cover!
The Labels
The unboxed blue Decca labels have a little spindle wear but no marking or writing at all. The JT tax stamp can be seen on both run out grooves.
