Welcome to 20th Century Collectables
Quality vinyl for the discerning collector
Rollings Stones – Let it Bleed - 1969 UK 1st pressing on the unboxed MONO red Decca label - LK 5025 with the ultra rare 1A /1A matrix to both sides!!!
20th century collectables usually concerns itself with selling high quality Beatles vinyl, however there are exceptions and an ultra rare 1A/1A UK 1st pressing of the classic Stones album Let it Bleed in Mono is one of those exceptions.
The record has received very few plays and is in remarkable condition. However what makes this record so special, other than its condition, is that it has the 1A matrix on side 1 and side 2. Very early on in the production cycle and after only a limited number of copies were pressed the 1A matrix was quickly replaced by the 2A matrix on side 1; virtually all UK 1st pressings have the 2A/1A matrix combination.
Furthermore in 1969 mono had all but been phased out, EMI had abandoned it altogether, so unboxed mono copies of this album are rare in themselves, but these initial 1A/1A pressings are extremely tough to find and therefore provide an investment opportunity for the discerning collector and/or Stones fan.
This copy comes with its original stickered sleeve and the all important poster.
Matrix numbers: XARL 9363 P-1A / XARL 9364 P-1A
Stamper codes: 1/UI & 1/UM (First Mother)

CONDITION
Disc
Visual: EXC+/MINT-
A stunning looking disc which appears MINT in strong daylight. On closer inspection under a strong halogen desklight there are some very light handling marks and some whispy sleeve removal marks consistant with the record being removed from its inner sleeve. This record in this condition is a true rarity. The disc lies 100% flat on the turntable.
Labels: EXC+/MINT-
A great set of labels with evidence that the record has only been played a handful of times. The silver lettering is unworn and still vibrant.
Audio: EXC+/MINT-
This is the Rolling Stones at their best. Stunning audio with no groovewear or distortion to any of the music signals and with only occasional light surface noise. So many classic songs on this record, ‘Gimme Shelter’, ‘Midnight Rambler’, ‘You can’t Always Get What you Want’ and the brilliant ‘Monkey Man’, all in glorious rich analogue mono sound! Needless to say the record does not jump or stick and there are no loud pops or ticks. A stunning audio experience in the original mono mix.
Cover
EXCELLENT+
An original 1st issue stickered cover with the famous Delia Smith cake and the early spelling of ‘Gimmie Shelter’ as opposed to the later spelling of ‘Gimme Shelter’. Some very faint laminate creases to the front. It still retains its high gloss laminate, check out the pictures. Very tough to find in this condition.
Poster
EXC+/MINT-
Inner-sleeve EXC-
Original red censored inner with no writing or seam splits.
