ALBUM INFO: 

Released in the December of 1969 this pivotal Stones album is the last Stones LP to feature Brian Jones, as by this time Brian was more isolated from his other band members due to his various addictions which made him pretty much unpredictable in the studio. His replacement Mick Taylor plays most of the second guitar parts. This also features Ry Cooder's first collaboration with the Stones as his play mandolin on 'Love In Vain'. The album also features The Faces Ian Stewart, the ever present Bobby Keys on tenor sax and Nicky Hopkins on piano all of which appear on later albums. This album detracts from the regular R&B sound and moves into new musical direction with various different styles from country rock to Latin samba and even gospel. In my opinion one of the last great Rolling Stones albums, there's honestly not a bad track on the album. This LP is one of the earliest presses as the small label was only on 1969 pressings as there was a mix up at the label manufacturers, even though some still got through you can visibly see the extra black plastic where the larger label should be. This album also contains an original Rolling Stones poster and unique inner sleeve with sleeve notes.       

COVER ART: 

The album cover was designed by Robert Brownjohn, and displays a surreal sculpture.The image consists of 'Let It Bleed' being played by the tone arm of an antique phonogram and a record changer spindle supporting several items stacked on a plate in place of a stack of records, these items include; a tape canister labelled Stones-Let It Blled, a clock face, a pizza, a tyre and cake with elaborate icing topped by figurines representing the band. The cake parts of the construction were prepared by then unknown cookery writer Delia Smith. The back of the LP sleeve displays the same record stack in a state of disarray. The artwork was inspired by the working title of the album, which was Automatic Changer.

VINYL: 

(EX-) The vinyl has a few scuff marks. 

COVER: FRONT & BACK: 

(VG+) The front has some laminate creasing towards the top and bottom edges and a little towards the spine; there is also a little laminate crease to the right hand side of the cover which outlines a segment of ring wear. There is a little laminate lift next to the spine but this is very minor, and there is a little wear to the front however this is nothing drastic. There are a few small indents in the cover where, I presume, something has pressed against it. The cover displays the original sticker which is in excellent condition, just a little wear around the edges. The back has a few small minor creases mainly towards the top left hand corner, and a little creasing which as with the front, lines out a little ring wear. There is a little wear, and the back also displays the small hole to the top right hand corner which determines whether the record is mono or stereo. There is however no damage to either the front of back such as sticker marks or tears in the LP sleeve. Please consult the pictures.   

EDGES/SPINE: 

There are a couple of creases to the spine but this is very minor; overall in excellent condition with edges and spine free of any damage and just a little wear which is mainly to the corners. 

POSTER:

(EX+) The poster is in excellent condition with no damage.

INNER SLEEVE: 

The inner sleeve has quite a few creases and a little browning, mainly due to the age. 

LABELS: 

Clean, no damage or writing. 

AUDIO GRADING: 

I play all LP's on my Pioneer PL 550-X. This is a truly enjoyable album to listen to, with only a few faults. Side A clicks about a quarter of the way through, whilst 'Let It Bleed' has three pops. Side B has a few clicks and has some occasional faint and minor surface noise. There is, however, no jumps or distortion. These faults I feel are minor and do not, and in my opinion could not spoil the enjoyment of such a fantastic album!

PACKAGING: 

I use preformed and standard mailers with stiffeners. I always take the vinyl out in its inner sleeve and place on top of the cover. This is then placed into a soft protective sleeve and packaged with stiffeners for full protection.
