Description

MASSIVELY RARE Original UK 1972 **Near Mint** True 1st Pressing (A1/B1/C2/D1 Matrix) 'Exile On Main Street' by The Rolling Stones!!! With Original BOTH Original Inners (Inlaid) & Full Set of 12 Postcards (Postcards Have Not Been Separated and are Still Attached) **This Record is Impossible to Find In Near Mint Complete Condition**

Here is another gem from my own mostly Nr Mint personal collection (which I am selling off gradually to lessen the pain...) I have been collecting very rare vinyl for a long time now. As a collector, I have been very critical about the condition of the records I have chosen to buy over the years, and only selected the most pristine 1st pressings from all over the UK.  My collection is therefore filled with not only the rarest UK 1st pressings, but also records of the highest grade quality condition, some of the best you will probably ever come across. Sadly, all will be finding new homes in the near future. As I said, I am very strict with my grading, so when I describe a record as Nr Mint - you can rest assured that it will be a true Nr Mint record (I never grade any records as Mint because Mint does not exist in the world of vintage vinyl - in my opinion, as soon as the record has been taken home from the store it is no longer Mint!!) I hope you enjoy my listings.

You are bidding on the Earliest 1972 UK 1st pressing (A1/B1/C2/D1 Matrix) of what is seen by many as the last truly great Rolling Stones album; the awesome 'Exile On Main Street'! This is an the EARLIEST UK 1st Pressing with the all important (A1/B1/C2/D1 Matrix). What's more I am pleased to inform you that it is in STUNNING Near Mint (yes Near Mint!) condition and comes complete with its full (12) mint postcard set, all of which are still fully attached to each other! It has the correct 1st Press 'box-shaped' outer sleeve & 'correct' original 'thicker' card colour picture inners, which are inlaid with the 'correct' 'British patent'  die-cut white inner sleeves. What's more, this is all in the best condition you are ever likely to see! The discs, inners & postcards are Near Mint and the sleeve easily grades as Excellent+++!! Impossibly rare for a TRUE UK A1/B1/C2/D1 Matrix 1st pressing of this all time classic!!!! If you are a Rolling Stones collector of a fan of classic UK 1st Press rock albums in general, do not miss this one as it is the best I have EVER seen or owned and you will almost certainly not see another true UK 1st press like it again...

The bottom line is that this record and sleeve are in STUNNING condition throughout!!! You will not find a better example! Like all 1st press copies of this legendary album, on the rare occasions they turn up today they are almost always trashed; in terrible condition with lots of marks & scratches to the discs, missing postcards, and very tatty sleeves etc. Aside from being the true UK 1st pressing, what makes this one SO rare is its absolutely STUNNING condition!!! Both discs have the most beautiful shop-fresh, deep glass-like shine I have ever seen, it really looks as if they could have been pressed yesterday - they are that good!!! The postcards are not only all complete, they are all still fully adjoined to each other! You do not see copies like this in the UK anymore, they all dried up years ago! The bidding will probably be high for this one, but trust me when I say this is one record well worth pushing the boat out for, you will never see another copy in this condition. A very serious record indeed and essential for any Near Mint Who/Psych/Prog. UK 1st press collection... Please see below for a detailed overall description... But rest assured, you will not find a better 1st press example anywhere today...

This record is in stunning immaculate condition!!! The Classic 1st press yellow Rolling Stones centre labels are in pristine Near Mint condition with NO Tears, NO Peeling, NO Grubbyness, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind!!! There is just the faintest traces of spindle lines that can be seen only when angling the labels toward strong light. Play grading for this listing was done very lightly on a high grade Mitchell turntable so, to all intents and purposes, it doesn't really count as an additional play. The gramophone rims containing the all-important 1st press Matrix are also obviously Mint!!!

As described above - the thick & chunky 1st press discs themselves are in impossible ***Nr Mint*** condition!!! There are NO Hairlines, NO Scratches, NO Groovewear, NO warping, NO Scuffs - Not even any Paperlines!!!! In fact there are NO blemishes of any kind!!! They are both pristine!! Which brings me nicely along the the play-grade, and it is a belter! Like the UK 1st pressing of Stick Fingers, this record traditionally suffers from severe crackle and pops. However this one plays superbly and really is the best example I have heard for a very, very long time. It has a beautiful loud clear and defined 1st press stereo punch that suits the acoustic and horns-based tracks particularly well. It will blow you away! It plays perfectly cleanly with just the very lightest background crackle during the run-ins, on the quieter passages & between tracks. it is the best copy I have heard - stunning!

The Classic Gatefold Sleeve is also in Superb condition with NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind!!!  It folds out beautifully and still retains all of its 1st press 'Box Shape'. The sleeve lies perfectly FLAT with MINIMAL RING WEAR and a good strong spine!!! It has aged much better than other 1st press 'exile' sleeves in that it has retained all of its box shape and has not suffered the extensive surface, corner and edge wear and seam splitting common with this sleeve. It only ha the most minimal corner wear. What's more it shows NONE of the discolouration common with these sleeves, it is STUNNING!!!! BRIGHT AND VIBRANT, with virtually NO yellowing!!!!! This sleeve grade as Excellent++++ at the very least!!!

The full 12-postcard set is complete, attached and in Near Mint condition, with no separation of the perforated edges, they are amazingly all still firmly attached!!!! The colours are still vibrant, it is, quite simply, the best set I have ever seen and quite fitting that they match this amazing record. The heavy card 1st press inner sleeves are near mint, beautiful!!! Nice and vibrant with sharp edges & corners and NO discolouration!!!! This very special album even comes with its 1st press die-cut British 'patent' white liner inners that sit inside the colour outer inners thus giving the record added protection!!!! Don't miss this one - I cannot recommend it highly enough- It is an absolutely essential (and very rare) record for any Stones/Classic Rock fan to own!!! These UK 1st Press LP's NEVER turn up any more!!! Please check out our feedback and bid with confidence as this is a NO RESERVE auction with a very low starting price!

To find a true complete UK 1st press 'Exile on Main Street' w/ it orig. 12-piece unattached postcard set in Mint vinyl condition is Impossible - It is the best I have EVER seen, and once it is gone it is gone...

Refunds & Feedback ... Please read this carefully ... We try to give you the best quality examples of rare records available. However, there will always be somebody out there whose expectations far exceed UK record collector grading standards.  If you are in anyway unsatisfied with your record or our grading of it please refer to the UK Record Collector Grading Chart very carefully BEFORE emailing us. We strictly adhere to it and will only offer refunds (minus the postage AND our eBay costs) if we are satisfied that we have fallen below UK record collector grading standards. This will very rarely, if ever, happen. We will not be impressed with buyers disputing our gradings without even bothering to check the UK record collector grading standards chart first - you have been warned ...

Buyers who continually Haggle, Whine and Moan to try to decrease the price they won their auctions for will be blocked from bidding on future auctions and can toodle off down to HMV or Virgin where they can harass the counter staff there.

We will always leave feedback upon receipt of feedback. In an ideal world we would like to leave feedback as soon as the record has been shipped but due to feedback blackmail in the past (i,e, ",,,I want a partial refund or I will leave negative feedback") we have opted to take this measure. Contact must be made within 3 days of winning the auction. If payment has not been received after 10 days a non paying bidder alert will be placed. If payment is then not received within 7 days Negative feedback WILL be left and the buyer WILL be given a strike by eBay. Thanks for reading.
