Description
ROLLING STONES: No. 2, UK Decca LK 4661 1965 MONO LP. Ultra ultra rare - may be the wrong term for this one, since until this date I have never seen a copy like it, and it is to my knowledge undocumented. How many of these were made is anyones guess.
The James Upton ltd flip-back cover has stunning differences from any other known version of this cover. It may well be a sort of promo-cover or proto-type, and never commercially released. It comes from a collection that contained a stunning array of rarities and promo-items, from which I was lucky to buy this LP and a few others.
First af all, and most importantly, this flip-back cover has a wide & square back-spine, the upper and lower parts of which are pressed.
Secondly, it's a Blind Man text version, which only the earliest issues were.
Thirdly, the edges of the flip-backs towards the opening are angled, see picture XX (common flip-back sleeve has straight edges).
The fourth point is that the lamination on the back cover near the back spine reaches about 3 cms into the back cover (normal is about 1 cm), see picture XX.
The fifth point, and to some to most important, this cover appears almost 'as new', and is graded MINT(-).
All in all, the most unbelievable Rolling Stones item I have ever held in my hands. If anybody out there knows more about the origin of this cover, I would love to hear from them.
COVER graded MINT(-).
VINYL, with 2-A, 2-A matrix ends and deep grooves, is graded EXCELLENT+++, barely played. Plays superbly Nr MINT all the way. Played once or twice I believe.
This LP comes with an original "Playing / Handling" polyinner used by Decca in the mid-60s.
This LP will be packed with utmost care, making sure that this, in many ways, unique cover will arrive to you in perfect condition.

GRADINGS
- MINT- is superb, almost like new. No marks, scratches, clicks, noise, or anything else.
- EX is also VERY nice, 2-3 light marks perhaps, no disturbing noise, great sound quality.
- VG+, a nice player, but probably has some visual impairments, and some clicks or light noise in places; always see the individual description.
- VG: Rarely put of for sale, an ok copy, but always see the individual description.
PLAYGRADING
I play-grade parts of or whole LPs to determine the actual sound-quality of the item. Palygrading is done on a quality system with an Linn LP12 as the main source.
SHIPPING
I SHIP IN BAND NEW CRUCIFORM shipping boxes with stiffeners & extra corner protection always added. .The boxes are slightly bigger than the normal LP-size, thereby providing good protection of corners and edges. I remove LPs from sleeves, in order to prevent seam-splits on transit.
