THE ROLLING STONES
OUT OF OUR HEADS
RARE 1965 1ST PRESS
9A/ 9B MONO MATRICES
Sleeve: A strong Excellent condition. Has retained its original glossy finish, coloration and contrast... Corners are square with straight unblemished edges. Fully intact spine and is structurally sound; no tears, rips, or repairs, and no blemishes such as writing, ring-wear, or indentations. Lies completely flat and still well adhered and clean. Just a little cellotape residue on rear panel top fold, otherwise is very clean. Lamination still glossy and untethered with feint record ring wear. Probably as good as likely to be found; this is a 1st issue sleeve as identified by the 'Made in England by Robert Stace' credit and the copyright '965' error (should be 1965).
The Vinyl: Near Mint condition ...is actually Mint but as a 57 years old record I am stating as Near Mint. Has retained a jet-black glossy pressing sheen all over both surfaces and looks to be completely immaculate and never played. There are no warps, no scuffs, no needle drops, no groove wear, no scratches, and no hairlines and appears as if new, perhaps a couple of wispy sleeve trails if anything at all. The surfaces are clean and have retained their original lustre and project a strong mirror-like shine. Inspected closely with the disc held angled I can't see any evidence of play.
Inner Sleeve: Original 'Decca Dots' inner sleeve in Excellent Condition with no splits or discolouration, and neat opening edge
The Labels: Near Mint condition, also looks as good as new. 1st press unboxed labels. There are just one or two tiny feint spindle traces on each side.
The Audio: There are no audible detractions, no deviation from the original audio quality. It plays as well as likely to be possible, a better sounding copy and condition copy is unlikely to come up again. Very clear and lucid, I only needed to do a spot-check to confirm its viability as Near Mint/ Mint audio. At the very most there might be a few static tics due to its age but that is all. No jumps, no pops, no clicks, no skips, no background noise, no sticks etc. no deviations. Comparable to new record quality.
