Description

The Rolling Stones  are an English band whose music was initially based on rhythm and blues and rock & roll. Formed in London and having their first success in the UK, they subsequently became popular in the US during the "British Invasion" in the early 1960s.

The band formed in 1962 when original leader Brian Jones and pianist Ian Stewart were joined by singer Mick Jagger and guitarist Keith Richards, whose songwriting partnership later contributed to their taking the leadership role in the group. Bassist Bill Wyman and drummer Charlie Watts completed the early lineup. Ian Stewart was removed from the official lineup in 1963 but continued to work with the band as road manager and keyboardist until his death in 1985.

Out of Our Heads  is The Rolling Stones' third UK album and their fourth in the US. It was released in 1965 through their original distributors (Decca Records in the UK and London Records in the US), but with significant differences in both territories.

Initially issued in July 1965 in America (featuring an alternate shot from the same photo session that graced the cover of 12 X 5 and The Rolling Stones No. 2), Out of Our Heads was a mish-mash of studio recordings over a six month period, including hit single "The Last Time" and worldwide smash "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" as well as a sampling from the UK-only live EP got LIVE if you want it!. Riding the wave of "Satisfaction"'s success, Out of Our Heads became The Rolling Stones' first US #1 album, eventually going platinum. In 2003, this US edition was listed as number 114 on the List of Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

This then is the excellent 1965 stereo recording of the The Rolling Stones  album entitled  " Out of Our Heads "  on the Decca record label No SKL 4733.  This record is very carefully described as follows:


ALBUM    is in wonderful condition and has been played recently to check the playing quality. It plays very well indeed. The record is graded as in excellent + condition with very light marks and no scratches seen on the playing surface. ( Seen under very strong light ). It still retains its original deep surface lustre.   MATRIX Nos   matrix numbers are ZAL 6974 - 1W stamped on the run offs on both sides at the 6 o'clock position. ( no other marks seen ).                 LABELS    are the large unboxed Decca labels which are in excellent condition with no marks or stains seen.                    COVER    is in an excellent and very clean condition with no marks or stains seen.  This cover has very light edge wear and very  light corner scuffs. The front cover has some light creases. The rear cover is very clean and tidy with no marks or stains. ( Cover is printed by Robert Stace and has the 1965 printing error seen as 965 ) .   INNER     it has an original Blue/White stereo Decca inner.   SPINE      is in excellent + condition.     RECORD CONDITIONS   NEAR MINT   The very lightest of marks on the Playing surface.   EXCELLENT   Very light marks on the playing surface.   VERY GOOD   Light marks and some light scratches on the playing surface.   GOOD ONLY   Many light marks and many light scratches on the playing surface.   All records will be sent in a protective polythene record cover.
