Description
Here is the Holy Grail for Rolling Stones' collectors - the very first withdrawn version of the band's debut LP, 'The Rolling Stones', on unboxed mono Decca from way back in 1964, with a full set of the hallowed 1A/1A matrices.
The 1A/1A vinyl looks in VG- condition with numerous surface marks, scuffs and hairlines to be seen when examined under strong lighting but definitely no particularly nasty or obviously feelable scratches. This is certainly not a disc you'd discard were it not for those 1A/1A matrices and the withdrawn track - it is better than that, and it plays loudly and vibrantly, all the way through, both sides, with no jumps or skips and with the expected various pops and clicks to be heard here and there. What a treat to hear the lost 2.52 version of Jagger and Richards' first joint composition played on the original withdrawn record.
Both red ridged labels are presentable with all text fully legible and no rips or sticker tears and what looks like a well faded name on one side (it is quite hard to make out).
The front laminated flipback sleeve is in Good condition with correct very first press track listing (not 'Mona') and no writing or sticker tears but plentiful creasing and age-related discolouration (see photos).
Very rarely does the all-important 1A matrix side 2 of the Stones' debut album turn up and very, very rarely is it coupled to a 1A matrix side 1. This absolutely first press 1A/1A disc is undoubtedly the rarest of them all, and here is a serviceable copy for your collection until that archive issue finally shows its face!
Good luck if you are bidding - I carefully pack vinyl using professional packaging and post with the disc removed from the sleeve to prevent knifing during transit.
