ROLLING STONES Rare Limited 8 Album Set with Book ORIGINAL DECCA ROLL 1

You are looking at a very rare limited edition set of the first 8 studio albums by the ROLLING STONES that were re-issued in small quantities in the UK in 1982 as DECCA catalogue number ROLL 1  with a card wrap-around cover and 192 page book called “The Rolling Stones – the First Twenty Years” by David Dalton. I am offering for sale the 8 LP’s plus a copy of the book. There is no wrap-around cover included in this listing. The records and their condition are described in detail below – please read the listing fully before bidding and please send me an e-mail if you would like any additional information.

Item 1 - A MONO copy of the 1964 self-titled ROLLING STONES LP on Decca Records, catalogue number LK 4605. The label on the vinyl also carries a catalogue number XARL 6271 (side 1) and XARL 6272 (side 2). The matrix numbers in the run out area are XARL-6271-6A (side 1) and XARL-6272-12A (side 2).

Vinyl is in excellent, near mint condition.

Paper inner sleeve is excellent.

Sleeve is very good/excellent with minimal signs of wear and tear to corners and edges, a little discolouration and very early signs of ring marking.

There is an eight-point gold star in a one-inch square border embossed on the rear of the sleeve.

Item 2 - A MONO copy of the 1964 ROLLING STONES LP “No 2” on Decca Records, catalogue number LK 4661. The label on the vinyl also carries a catalogue number XARL 6619 (side 1) and XARL 6620 (side 2). The matrix numbers in the run out area are XARL-6619-4A (side 1) and XARL-6620-4A (side 2).

Vinyl is in excellent, near mint condition.

Paper inner sleeve is excellent with some discolouration.

Sleeve is very good/excellent with minimal signs of wear and tear to corners and edges, a little discolouration and very early signs of ring marking.

There is an eight-point gold star in a one-inch square border embossed on the rear of the sleeve.

Item 3 – A STEREO copy of the 1965 ROLLING STONES LP “Out of Our Heads” on Decca Records, catalogue number SKL 4733. The label on the vinyl also carries a catalogue number ZAL 6973 (side 1) and ZAL 6974 (side 2). The matrix numbers in the run out area are EAL6973 4V(downward pointing triangle)E D (side 1) and EAL6974V(downward pointing triangle)E D (side 2).

Vinyl is in excellent, near mint condition.

Paper inner sleeve is excellent.

Sleeve is excellent with minimal signs of wear and tear to corners and edges.

There is an eight-point gold star in a one-inch square border embossed on the rear of the sleeve.

There is also a typo on the date printed on the rear cover which reads © 965, The Decca Record Company Limited, London.

Item 4 - A STEREO copy of the 1966 ROLLING STONES “After-Math” LP on Decca Records, catalogue number SKL 4786. The label on the vinyl also carries a catalogue number XZAL 7209 (side 1) and XZAL 7210 (side 2). The matrix numbers in the run out area are XZAL 7209 7X (side 1) and XZAL 7210 10A (side 2).

Vinyl is in excellent, near mint condition.

Paper inner sleeve is excellent with only very minimal discolouration.

Item 5 - A STEREO copy of the 1967 ROLLING STONES “Between the Buttons” LP on Decca Records, catalogue number SKL 4852. The label on the vinyl also carries a catalogue number XZAL 7644 (side 1) and XZAL 7645 (side 2). The matrix numbers in the run out area are XZAL7644 7A(downward pointing triangle)E D (side 1) and XZAL-7644-6k (side 2).

Vinyl is in excellent, near mint condition.

Paper inner sleeve is excellent with a little discolouration in places.

Item 6 - A STEREO copy of the 1967 ROLLING STONES LP “Their Satanic Majesties Request” on Decca Records, catalogue number TXS 103. The label on the vinyl also carries a catalogue number ZAL 8126 (side 1) and ZAL 8127 (side 2). The matrix numbers in the run out area are ZAL-8126/T2-7K (side 1) and ZAL-8127-T2-6K (side 2).

Vinyl is generally excellent, however there is localised scratching on the opening track “Sing this all together”, which will also be audible on the first few revolutions of the track “Citadel”.

Paper inner sleeve is excellent with very minimal discolouration.

Sleeve is very good with minimal signs of discolouration, creasing and wear and tear to corners and edges. There is also some scuffing to the upper left hand side of the front of the sleeve which has been caused as a result of having been stored next to a copy of Sticky Fingers with a zip cover.

There is an eight-point gold star in a one-inch square border embossed on the rear of the sleeve. On this sleeve is a little worn and not very prominent as it blends with the colours of the background.

Item 7 - A STEREO copy of the 1968 ROLLING STONES LP “Beggars Banquet” on Decca Records, catalogue number SKL 4955. The label on the vinyl also carries a catalogue number XZAL 8476 (side 1) and XZAL 8477 (side 2). The matrix numbers in the run out area are XZAL-8476-4K (side 1) and XZAL-8477-1K (side 2)

Vinyl is in excellent, near mint condition.

Paper inner sleeve is excellent.

Gatefold sleeve is also very good/excellent with minimal signs of wear and tear to corners and edges, a little discolouration and very early signs of ring marking.

Item 8 – A STEREO copy of the 1969 ROLLING STONES LP “Let It Bleed” on Decca Records, catalogue number SKL 5025. The label on the vinyl also carries a catalogue number XZAL 9364 (side 1) and XZAL 9365 (side 2). The matrix numbers in the run out area are XZAL-9363-P-1W (side 1) and XZAL9364 8G (downward pointing triangle) E D (side 2).

Vinyl is in excellent, near mint condition.

Item 9 – A copy of the book “THE ROLLING STONES – The First Twenty Years” by David Dalton and published by Thames and Hudson of Bloomsbury Street, London in very good condition with a little creasing to corners and edges of cover and paperback cover, and some general discolouration due to ageing.

Because of the age of the records and the book, there are no barcodes printed on the sleeves or cover.

I bought these records along with a collection of around a couple of dozen other ‘Stones albums from a work colleague in 1987. They have been virtually un-played in the time that I have owned them. Given their condition I cannot imagine they were played many times before I bought them. Please check out my completed listings and feedback to assure yourself of the authenticity of my grading.
