Here it is! The First of the First  press (See Matrix &Stamper#'s below) of the Rolling Stones most ambitious LP: “Their Satanic Majesties Request”, Pysch guitars, creative arrangements, some African rhythms, Mellotrons, and full orchestration, and even John Lennon and Paul McCartney  singing backing vocals on "Sing This All Together".

The vinyl (visual grade): Very strong VG+ (conservatively),

This is the heavy thick vinyl only found on the earliest 1st pressings. Excellent luster, No scratches. no scuffs. From a foot away both sides look Mint-, But upon closer examination there are a number of what appear to be small barely visible tiny Sleeve lines, spider lines, The  Record is perfectly flat and looks extremely clean. I would say this Lp was carefully played 10-20 times on good equipment. This is an extremely well cared for disc.

The Sound: This LP sounded great, extremely enjoyable listening, excellent Hi-fidelity.. There was no distortion and no skips or jumps, appears to be no groove-wear. The only issues are a mild pop and low level dust noise at the piano intro on track 1 Side 1. Between tracks there was some dust noise (crackling) and in very quiet passages some occasional mild noise. Overall a joy to listen to. 

I think a good deep cleaning will cure most or all of these minor issues.

The labels: Mint- (side 2), VG++++ (side 1)

Feature the earliest 1st press (UNBOXED DECCA LABELS) With the Deep Groove. In awesome condition very minimal sleeve lines can only be seen angled to the light, except for one “wandering” line on side 1 , (Amazingly just a handful that I can see)! Little if (no) spindle wear the hole is perfectly round.

The Cover: Very Strong VG+, close to Mint-.

This is the original 1st press Stereo gatefold cover.

These originals are made of thick card and have the original thick perspex 3d front image. This Original Album has the STEREO catalogue number on the spine and on the rear lower right (only on 1st UK press). It’s very rare to find this cover with no  splits or tears and virtually no seam or corner wear, except there is a crimped lower right corner barely visible. Only one small barely visible 2” laminate crease on front cover near upper right corner of the paste-one 3D perplex. Cover is laminated at the front and rear Inside the gate fold is superb, clean without any handwriting or names. Hard to find like this!

I grade the cover a strong VG+, close to Mint-. The inside cover is definitely Mint-, as the before mentioned crimped lower right corner only affects the front half of the gatefold cover.

The Original Inner sleeve: Strong VG+/M-

This is the original psychedelic Smoke sleeve, only one 1.5” clean split at bottom center, one very small ¼” tear at near center of  sleeve opening (look very close you can see it in photo), only very light wrinkling..

RECORD GRADING (Usually Visual) :

FS=Original Factory Sealed. ///

New= New (or Mint) perfect in every way, record appears unplayed. ///

New- = New minus (or Mint minus), record played maybe 1 to 9 times , perhaps a few spindle lines on label, and maybe a sleeve line or two. Covers close to M, has maybe a small corner bend, maybe the very slightest of ring line caused by the record.///

VG+ = Very Good Plus, record played a little more than an m- but well cared for. Vinyl has the vast majority of its original luster, may have sleeve lines, maybe a few very lite scuffs; maybe one or two small, very light surface scratches. But not all at the same time. Cover MAY have very minor ringwear, maybe a few other flaws, a minor corner bend or two, maybe a small partial seam split; ///

VG = record has the flaws of a VG+, only more of them; may also have some small scratches that are felt with a fingernail. Vinyl is very playable and will play through, good luster. Probably some noise between tracks, maybe in quiet passages. Still, a reasonably well cared for record. /// VG- = proportionally lower than a VG.////

G = It is rare that I will even list a record in this condition; but it will be proportionally lower than a VG-.
