THE ROLLING STONES LP THE ROLLING STONES STORY (Decca/Telefunken Records 6.30118) Released 1980.

Exceptional package with great unique photos & 8-page booklet. High-quality German pressing with superb sound. Contains a rare extended version of 2120 S. Michigan Avenue with a guitar solo by Muddy Waters! I am told this version is not available on the UK or US version. The debut self-titled Stones  album is presented in its original warm-sounding monaural take, which on the superb-sounding German pressing is a wonder to behold.

Discs are in wonderful shape with no scratches - very well cared for! Contains 12 inch by 12 inch glossy photos of Keith Richards & Bill Wyman. The other 3 photos are missing. The booklet has interesting info about the Stones & passages of interviews with several members & with Andrew Loog Oldham. Helpful timeline of the band's history from their formation in Richmond, England in 1963 until 1975. Pressed on nice 60s-era red & black Decca labels. Inside the protective box, the discs are sleeved in heavy duty inner sleeves without rigid cardboard outer jackets. These nice sleeves are custom printed with pics of cool & hard-to-find Stones albums. (Matrix #: "6.21396-00-1/1   x xxxxxxxxxx x").

BOX - VERY GOOD PLUS

Free of stains, writing, smudges, ink stains, tape, water damage, cut-out marks, mildew, stickers, & color fading. Very very nice design & cover preservation. One-inch seam split on bottom edge. No ring wear, with very little corner wear. Spine is excellent & all readable. Front has some faint indentations & two five-inch scratches that do not pierce the paper & three quarter-inch scratches that do puncture the paper. Back also has three light scratches. These are not heavy blemishes-I am able to gain much visual pleasure from this fine artifact. Booklet, photos & inner sleeves look quite nice with no stains or tears & some minor half-creases that are barely visible. Labels are excellent: no marks, stains, writing, stickers, fading or cuts. Sharp print, rich color on labels. Sharp cut holes with a few inaudible faint transparent spindle brushings.
