Description

Mega Rare Original 1965 Decca Records ***Near Mint*** UK Mono 1st Pressing (Red Unboxed 'ffss' Decca Labels!) 'Out Of Our Heads' by The Rolling Stones!!! In Absolutely BREATHTAKING Near Mint Visual & Aural Condition!!! - Unblemished 1st Press Thick & Chunky Vinyl!!! Complete with Stunning 1st Issue Robert Stace Thickly Laminated Sleeve and Near Mint Original 'Thick Paper' 1st Issue Poly Lined Inner Sleeve! Inner Sleeve!!! Very, Very Rare as a True UK Mono 1st Pressing and impossible to Find in This Kind of Condition!!!

Here is another gem from my own mostly Nr Mint personal collection (which I am selling off gradually to lessen the pain...) I have been collecting very rare vinyl for a long time now. As a collector, I have been very critical about the condition of the records I have chosen to buy over the years, and only selected the most pristine 1st pressings from all over the UK.  My collection is therefore filled with not only the rarest UK 1st pressings, but also records of the highest grade quality condition, some of the best you will probably ever come across. Sadly, all will be finding new homes in the near future. As I said, I am very strict with my grading, so when I describe a record as Nr Mint - you can rest assured that it will be a true Nr Mint record (I never grade any records as Mint because Mint does not exist in the world of vintage vinyl - in my opinion, as soon as the record has been taken home from the store it is no longer Mint!!) I hope you enjoy my listings.

You are bidding on a STUNNING U.K. Decca 1965 1st Mono Pressing of 'Out Of Our Heads', by The Rolling Stones!!! Those who regularly watch my auctions will probably know I only sell the highest grade Rolling Stones 1st pressings (Check it my feedback history to see some of these records). Well this continues that tradition, it is a beautiful UK Mono 1st press of one of the Rolling Stones greatest early period records; Out Of Our Heads. This record is the very best example I have ever seen or owned (and believe me, I have owned a lot of copies of these albums!). This is my very own keepers copy I am selling, so bid high as you will not see another in anything approaching this kind of condition!

The bottom line is that this record and sleeve are in STUNNING condition throughout!!! You will not find a better example of this rare record! Like almost all 1st press unboxed Decca Stones LP's, when this album turns up today it almost always has been trashed; in terrible condition with lots of marks & scratches and ripped/grubby sleeves etc. This one IS NOT!!! Aside from being the true UK 1st pressing, what makes this one SO rare is its STUNNING condition!!! This thick & chunky vinyl has the most beautiful shop-fresh, deep glass-like shine I have ever seen, it really looks as if this record could have been pressed yesterday - it is that good!!! Aside from prossibly one of two virtually invisible paperlines, there are no visible marks to the playing surfaces - at all!  This record is pure museum quality stuff from start to finish. What's more it is the quietest playing copy I have ever heard! As it is such a very special record in this kind of condition the bidding will be high, but trust me when I say this is one record well worth pushing the boat out for, you will never see another copy in this condition. A very serious record indeed and essential for any Near Mint Rolling Stones/Beat UK 1st press collection... Please see below for a detailed overall description... You will not find a better 1st press example of this classic, classic record!!! A truly breathtaking 1st press example of this rare album, it is the best I have ever seen -  don't miss it!!!

Cat No:

LK. 4733

1st Press Matrix:

Side 1 - ARL-6973-8B

Side 2 -  ARL-6974-12A

This vinyl is in stunning immaculate condition!!! The Classic 1st press Red/Silver unboxed Decca centre labels are in pristine Near Mint condition with NO Tears, NO Peeling, NO Grubbyness, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind!!! I can just see 3 light spindle lines  Side 1, and a few more on Side 2. This record has only ever seen a turntable a handful of times before at best.  Play grading was done very lightly on a high grade Mitchell turntable so, to all intents and purposes, it doesn't really count as an additional play. The gramophone rims containing the all-important 1st press Matrix are also obviously Mint!!!

As described above - the thick & chunky 1st press vinyl itself is in Stunning Nr Mint condition!!! There are NO Hairlines, NO Scratches, NO Groovewear, NO warping, in fact - NO blemishes of any kind  save for perhaps one or two almost invisible paperlines (simply caused by removing the record for its inner sleeve). It is the best looking example I have ever seen! Which brings me nicely along the the play-grade, and it is a belter! It has obviously never seen one of the harsh 1960's mono needles that destroyed many records of the day. It has a beautiful loud clear and defined mono punch that will blow you away! There is just a little background static on the run ins and occasionally between tracks and that's it! The best copy I have heard! I have to keep reminding myself that I am describing a 40+ year old record here, not one made last week!!! I can say nothing else about this chunky 1st press record - it's absolutely perfect and Near Mint!!! These Mono 1st pressings were straight from the masters and nothing even gets close to them today, especially when you find one in this kind of pristine audio condition, you just cannot find them in this condition anymore! They play with a very loud punchy but also deep clear warm chiming clarity and have to be heard to be believed! This is the best pressing you will hear and is far, far superior to the more common Stereo 1st pressings and much more common late 1970's and early 1980's repressings.  Absolutely beautiful!!! The thick quality pressed chunky 1960's vinyl looks and feels great (it is very heavy!).

The classic 1st press thickly laminated James Upton sleeve is also in amazing pristine condition!!! Like most early Stones LP's. these 1st press sleeves always turn up totally worn-out-looking nowadays with severe grubbiness to the unlaminated reverse side and damage to the edges and seams. Suffice to say, they have not remained in prime condition over the years. THIS SLEEVE IS DIFFERENT!! It is in superb condition with perfectly preserved laminate, NO Tears, NO Stains, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind - It has none of the grubiness to the reverse of the sleeve of white borders! It is completely blemish free!!! The laminate retains all its beautiful glossy sheen and NO cracking and NO Lifting anywhere!!! The spine is simply MINT with perfectly legible spine text and a beautiful unbroken laminate sheen!!! The spine has NONE of the common laminate cracking!!! The thick laminate is crystal clear and absolutely flawless, in fact is it so pristine it almost is looks 'wet' in appearance (see images below)! I have never seen laminate this good on this sleeve before. The corners are super-sharp and the only laminate creasing visible is one or two very light oxbow laminate creases toward the right of the front side; only visible when holding the sleeve angled toward strong light and totally insignificant! I can say with a certain degree of confidence that this is one of the best examples of this sleeve you are ever likely to see. It easily grades as Excellent+++ ! (other sellers would grade Mint or Near Mint)

Of course, this record comes complete with its rare ORIGINAL 1st issue poly-lined windowed inner sleeve with correct 'Starred'  & 'Handling/Playing Instruction text' inner sleeve, which is also in STUNNING *Near Mint* condition!!! Importantly, it is the 'thick paper' 1st issue type. Like all my rare inner sleeves. this has, to all intents & purposes, been treated like an insert. The record has always been housed in a separate replacement poly-lined inner sleeve since it has been in my possession. Thus, as you would expect, this rare inner is perfect, with NO discolouration and NO writing/scribbles!!! Importantly, it has NONE of the seam wear and splitting as is common with these original fragile inner sleeves. It is very, very rare to find these original 1st issue patterned inner sleeves anymore (let alone in this condition) and to further protect this one during shipping, it will safely be tucked away, empty, inside the gatefold sleeve. This will protect from 'knifing' to the seams from the record during transit  (see my packing information below for more details). The actual disc will come to you housed in the replacement poly lined inner sleeve it has always been kept in and will be housed outside the jacket. Record and sleeve will then be placed in a tough clear poly sleeve before being professionally packaged for shipping.

Please check out hazey_jane_records' feedback and bid with confidence as this is a no reserve auction with a very low starting price!  UK 1st press copies of this record in such stunning condition are in very high demand today. If you have never heard it, you will not find another copy that looks or plays more pristinely than this- it will blow you away!!! If you are a collector/investor, the price of this record will just rise and rise. An absolutely essential (and very rare) record to own.

I have tried to show you the record from all angles using oversized images. If you are not sure of anything just email me - I will be happy to help. Don't underestimate the rarity of this LP - It is by far the best copy I have ever seen of this rare UK 1st pressing. Like I mentioned above, I have come across quite a few UK 1st press examples of this record in my time and I can say with absolute confidence that this is the most pristine example you will ever see. From the deep shine of its pristine glass-like playing surfaces right down to its *Near Mint* rare 1st issue inner sleeve! Don't let it get away because once it's gone it's gone!!! Good Luck!!!

It has recently been pointed out to me that some eBay sellers have been using my images without permission. If you are thinking of lifting a picture or two from my pages - don't. You will be reported and your auction will be removed by eBay. It's not that I mind, in fact its kinda flattering, my real problem is that whoever does this is not showing a true image of the actual record they are selling. The condition of old 1960's & 70's records varies greatly, no two are in exactly the same condition when they are this age. All my pictures are very specific to the actual records I sell and it is wholly misleading to to show these images with reference to a different record. Thanks.

I will be selling my entire UK 1st Press collection of 1960/70's Psych/Prog./Beat/Rock & Folk over the coming months, most of these records are in Mint- condition, many having 3 figure book prices. All will be listed here on eBay UK, most with a £2.99 start and No Reserve - bookmark my pages. Like the vast majority of my collection, this record has been archived upright in a thick outer PVC sleeve in a smoke & damp free environment since purchase!

All my records have No reserve, a Low Start and No Surcharges!

Being the responsible adults you are, it is entirely up to you to take this up  - we strongly advise you to do this but will not hassle you about it. You either add the required insurance or you don't. If you do add the required insurance and your record is lost/damaged, you will get a refund. If you don't add the required insurance and your record is lost/damaged, you will not get a refund. Can we be any clearer? I think not.

Refunds & Feedback ... Please read this carefully ... We try to give you the best quality examples of rare records available. However, there will always be somebody out there whose expectations far exceed UK record collector grading standards.  If you are in anyway unsatisfied with your record or our grading of it please refer to the UK Record Collector Grading Chart very carefully BEFORE emailing us. We strictly adhere to it and will only offer refunds (minus the postage AND our eBay costs) if we are satisfied that we have fallen below UK record collector grading standards. This will very rarely, if ever, happen. We will not be impressed with buyers disputing our gradings without even bothering to check the UK record collector grading standards chart first - you have been warned ...

Buyers who continually Haggle, Whine and Moan to try to decrease the price they won their auctions for will be blocked from bidding on future auctions and can toodle off down to HMV or Virgin where they can harass the counter staff there.

We will always leave feedback upon receipt of feedback. In an ideal world we would like to leave feedback as soon as the record has been shipped but due to feedback blackmail in the past (i,e, ",,,I want a partial refund or I will leave negative feedback") we have opted to take this measure. Contact must be made within 3 days of winning the auction. If payment has not been received after 10 days a non paying bidder alert will be placed. If payment is then not received within 7 days Negative feedback WILL be left and the buyer WILL be given a strike by eBay. Thanks for reading.
