On offer here is a VERY rare LP (especially in this condition!!!!) by The Rolling Stones called "Their Satanic Majesties Request" and is an ORIGINAL 1967 MONO UK 1st Pressing on the 1st Press UNBOXED 'Grooved' Decca label!!!!  THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!!!!  THIS IS ONE OF THE RAREST ROLLING STONES LPs EVER - AND VIRTUALLY NEVER TURNS UP FOR SALE!!!!  JUST TRY AND FIND ANOTHER ONE!!!!  THIS LP IS ONE OF THE MOST SOUGHT AFTER LPs ON THE DECCA LABEL - AND IS INCREDIBLY TOUGH TO LOCATE TODAY!!!!  BUT WHAT MAKES THIS LP REALLY SPECIAL IS THAT IT IS THE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSING EVER MADE WITH ULTRA RARE 'UNCORRECTED' 1/1 MATRIX ENDINGS (SEE PICTURES), A DIFFERENT MIX ON A COUPLE OF TRACKS, AND DIFFERENT TRACK SPACING!!!!  AND THIS IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND ON THIS LP!!!!  WHEN THIS LP WAS 1ST PRESSED (WAY BEFORE THE RELEASE DATE!) THE MATRIX ENDINGS ON MONO PRESSINGS ONLY, WERE MISTAKENLY ENDED IN 1P/P1!!!!  THIS WAS COMPLETELY INCORRECT (THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO END IN P1/P1 INSTEAD!) AND ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER PRESSING BEGAN, A TINY ETCHED '1' WAS ADDED AFTER THE '1P' MATRIX ON SIDE 1!!!!  MOST 1ST PRESSINGS HAVE THIS EXTRA 'CORRECTION' ON THE MATRIX - AND IT IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND A 100% GENIUNE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSING WITH 'UNCORRECTED' 1P/P1 MATRIX ENDINGS (SEE PICTURES) LIKE THIS ONE HAS!!!!  NOT ONLY THAT BUT ANOTHER INDICATION OF THE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSING EVER MADE - IS THAT THERE IS NO 'GAP' IN THE GROOVES AT THE BEGINNING OF 'SHES A RAINBOW'!!!!  ONLY THE VERY 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSINGS EVER MADE - CAME LIKE THIS WITH NO 'GAP' IN THE GROOVES ON 'SHES A RAINBOW' - AND ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER RELEASE AN EXTRA 'GAP' WAS ADDED AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS TRACK!!!!  IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND AN ORIGINAL 1967 'EARLIEST POSSIBLE' 1ST PRESSING WITH ALL THE CORRECT (AND ULTRA RARE) 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESS DETAILS GIVEN ABOVE - AS BARELY ANY WERE EVER MADE!!!!  SO THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT AT ALL, THAT THIS IS THE 'EARLIEST' & RAREST 1ST PRESSING OF THIS INCREDIBLE LP - THAT YOU CAN POSSIBLY GET!!!!

BUT WHAT MAKES THIS LP EVEN RARER STILL - IT THAT IT ALSO HAS THE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESS 'WITHDRAWN' COVER TYPE ASWELL!!!!  ONLY AN ABSOLUTELY TINY HANDFUL (NO MORE THAN A FEW HUNDRED COPIES ONLY!) OF THE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSINGS EVER MADE LIKE THIS - AND CONSEQUENTLY THEY ARE NOW VERY VERY HARD TO LOCATE!!!!  I WILL NOW EXPLAIN THE AMAZING DIFFERENCES ON THE 'EARLIEST' WITHDRAWN 1ST PRESS COVER - WHICH EVERY OTHER COPY NEVER HAD!!!!


'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESS WITHDRAWN COVER DIFFERENCES:-

1)  THE OUTSIDE OF THE COVER IS A VERY 'DARK BLUE' COLOUR - WHEREAS ON LATER COVERS THIS WAS CHANGED TO 'TURQUOISE' INSTEAD!!!!  AND THE COLOUR DIFFERENCE ISN'T JUST MINOR, IT IS VERY NOTICEABLE AND VERY DIFFERENT INDEED!!!!

2) THE COLOUR THROUGHOUT THE COVER (BOTH INSIDE & OUTSIDE) IS DARKER, MUCH MORE 'VIVID', AND LOOKS FAR MORE IMPRESSIVE!!!!  AND IN CERTAIN AREAS OF THE COVER - COMPLETELY DIFFERENT COLOURS ARE USED!!!! 

3) THE PRINTING QUALITY IS OF A FAR FAR HIGHER STANDARD ON THE 'EARLIEST' WITHDRAWN COVER AND FAR FAR MORE DETAILED - WITH THE NORMAL 'STANDARD' COVERS LOOKING VERY POOR IN COMPARISON!!!!

4) ON THIS 'WITHDRAWN' COVER - THE LAMINATE USED IS OF FAR FAR BETTER QUALITY THAN THE 'STANDARD' COVERS - AND AS A RESULT, IT IS AT LEAST TWICE AS SHINY AND NOTICEABLY SUPERIOR!!!!

5) THE INSIDE OF THE COVER ON THIS 'WITHDRAWN' COVER HAS A 'SATIN' FINISH - WHEREAS ALL LATER ONES HAVE A 'MATT' FINISH INSTEAD!!!!

6) A FINAL POINT ON THIS 'WITHDRAWN' COVER IS YOU CAN BASICALLY LOOK AT IT FOR HOURS!!!!  THERE IS SO MUCH DETAIL HERE - AND YOU SEE THINGS YOU NEVER THOUGHT EXISTED ON THE 'STANDARD' COVERS!!!!  

SO NOT ONLY DOES THIS ULTRA RARE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESS 'WITHDRAWN' COVER LOOK SUPERIOR, USES COMPLETELY DIFFERENT COLOURS, HAS FAR MORE DETAILED PRINT QUALITY, AND 100 TIMES BETTER COLOURATION - BUT IT IS ALSO THE ALL TIME RAREST 1ST PRESSING YOU CAN POSSIBLY GET!!!!  SO THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT AT ALL - THAT THIS IS ONE OF THE ALL TIME RAREST ROLLING STONES LPs ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD TODAY!!!!

WHY THIS COVER WAS WITHDRAWN:-

There are 3 different thoughts as to why this LP's cover was 'withdrawn' and changed - though it is possible that we will never know for certain after all these years!!!!  1) The 'Satin' finish on the inside the cover was too shiny for anyone to complete the maze (unlikely in my opinion).  2) The Rolling Stones werent happy with the cover and wanted it changed (again very unlikely in my opinion as it pretty obvious which cover looks better!).  3) Cost.  And this probably the most likely reason in my opinion.  With the colouration being of the highest quality, the printing being made in the finest detail, and the laminate being of the VERY highest quality - it is fairly obvious that this cover would have cost a FORTUNE to produce!!!!  So it probably most likely that Decca quickly sought a cheaper way to produce the covers - and this is exactly why all later covers have worse colours, worse print quality, and cheaper laminate!  So for me the reason for its withdrawal was like many other business - COST!!!!

The record labels are in SUPERB condition (see pictures) with NO writing, NO wear, and only a few VERY light spindle marks!!!!  The vinyl is in BRILLIANT condition!!!!  Most of these 60s LPs had been to a lot of wild parties and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable. This one is NOT and has NO scratches, only 2 or 3 MEGA light hairlines, NO scufflines, only a VERY few TINY pressing marks (completely NON sounding!), and only a VERY few of the lightest paper scuffs only visible under light!!!!  THE RECORD STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED' LOOK AND SHINES LIKE NEW!!!!  It is also great to find that the record plays as STUNNINGLY as the visual with NO skips, barely ANY clicks AT ALL, NO sticking, NO jumps, and barely ANY crackle AT ALL!!!!  The sound quality is simply SUPERB with NO groovewear and NO distortion either!!!!   The record must grade Very Good++ if not better!!!!  Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way!!!! I use STRICT RC grading standards - it is not in my interest not to!!!! Brillant!!!! The record also comes in its ORIGINAL 1st Press Red 'Smoke' inner sleeve which is in absolutely BRILLIANT condition!!!!  The ORIGINAL 1st Press 'Robert Stace' Gatefold 'Withdrawn' Laminated '3D' MONO Cover is in BRILLIANT condition!!!!  It has NO splits, NO folding, NO spinal wear (apart from 1 or 2 TINY 'touched in' traces!), NO edge wear (apart from some almost INVISIBLE 'touched in' traces!), only VERY slight corner wear (NOT through the colour!), NO rips, NO tears, only some very VERY minor evidence of 'tipping in' to the corner tips, an absolutely SUPERB looking '3D' front panel (with NO frosting AT ALL!), only a VERY few light creases, VERY shiny laminate, NO annotations, and NO writing!!!!  The opening edges are beautifully straight with barely ANY feathering AT ALL!!!!  Even the unlaminated inside of the cover is in SUPERB condition with NO grubbyness, NO rubbing, NO yellowing, and NO writing!!!!  It is also worth mentioning that the maze on the inside of the cover has NOT been filled in - and is completely UNTOUCHED!!!!  This cover must grade Very Good++ if not better!!!!  THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND LIKE THIS (ESPECIALLY AS THE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSING EVER MADE!) - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY!!!!
