(the first UK Rolling Stones album released with the new 'CUN' prefix)

Side 1: CUN 39108 A-5U stamped, with CUN 39108 5 A etched, and STERLING stamped
Side 2: CUN 39108 B 1U etched, with STERLING stamped
THE RECORD IS HOUSED IN ORIGINAL DIE-CUT SLEEVE PRINTED BY 'Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd.'
COMPLETE WITH THE ORIGINAL UN-CENSORED INNER;
Lucille Ball, Raquel Welch, Farrah Fawcett, Liza Minnelli (on behalf of her mother Judy Garland) and the estate of Marilyn Monroe all threatened to take legal action over the use of the images printed on the inner sleeve. Several compromises were made including blurring the images but Lucille Ball and Raquel Welch were still not happy and a complete withdrawal of the artwork was the only solution.
But it's not only the artwork which offended; Jesse Jackson called the album "vulgar and obscene" due to its language and 'racial stereotyping' and asked Atlantic boss Ahmet Ertegun to withdraw the record. He responded by reminding Jackson that the Stones had built their career on the propagation of black music.
Jagger had certainly taken the current confrontational punk ethic to heart (and was even seen wearing a swastika-Jesus destroy T-shirt - from Malcolm MacLaren's Kings Rd. Seditionaries boutique)

Clean, bright, unmarked labels with just a few light spindle traces

Both surfaces shine like-new with just some light brush marks from the inner sleeve - incredibly minor and of no audio consequence

Immaculate audio performance throughout with no audible distractions of any kind - crystal clean, rich and detailed and one of the finest sounding Stones albums of the period
SLEEVE: MINT-
The sleeve is like-new - crisp, clean and fresh with no damage to any of the (many) die-cut sections - the edges are practically unworn and all spine text is clear and bold
INNER SLEEVE: MINT-
Printed on thick card with opening thumb notch and rounded corners the inner has both the catalogue number CUN 39108 (I) and G&L printers credit and is again, like-new with no seam splits, just a little record impression
