Another from my personal collection of over 50,000 albums that I have collected over a period of more than 45 years! 1st UK pressing of 'The Last Time' & 'Play With Fire' on the original Un-boxed Decca labels (later press feature boxed Decca labels) Very early -T1-2C -T1-1C Matrix endings! The audio is truly stunning through out! Audio Graded Very Near Mint on Side 1 and Excellent plus to very near mint on side two! The Vinyl looks barely played no more than a handfull of plays in my personal opinion! "The Last Time" is a song by the English rock band The Rolling Stones, and the band's first single written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.




Recorded at RCA Studios in Hollywood, California in January 1965, "The Last Time" was the band's third UK single to reach No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart, spending three weeks at the top in March and early April 1965.





It reached No.2 in the Irish Singles Chart in March 1965.








Although The Last Time is credited to Jagger/Richards, the song's refrain is very close to "This May Be the Last Time", a 1958 track by The Staple Singers. In 2003, Richards acknowledged this, saying: "we came up with 'The Last Time', which was basically re-adapting a traditional gospel song that had been sung by the Staple Singers, but luckily the song itself goes back into the mists of time." The Rolling Stones' song has a main melody and a hook (a distinctive guitar riff) that were both absent in the Staple Singers' version. Phil Spector, whose "Wall of Sound" approach can be heard on the recording, assisted with the production.






Footage still exists of a number of performances of this song by the Rolling Stones in 1965: from the popular BBC-TV music show Top of the Pops, the 1965 New Musical Express Poll Winners Concert and American TV shows including The Ed Sullivan Show and Shindig!. A full live performance is also prominently featured in the 2012 re-edit of the 1965 documentary Charlie Is My Darling. The footage confirms that the rhythm chords and guitar solo were played by Keith Richards, while the song's distinctive hook was played by Brian Jones, suggesting that Jones may have composed that riff.



A popular song in the Stones' canon, it was regularly performed in concert during the band's 1965, 1966 and 1967 tours. It was then left off their concert set lists until 1997–98, when it reappeared on the Bridges to Babylon Tour. It would later appear on some of the band's set lists in 2012–13 on the 50 & Counting tour.

The Vinyl
On visual inspection this is of the original heavier and thicker vinyl and more robust than later pressings which are much more flimsier! The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable. This looks superb, still retaining its original glossy sheen from new. Only in strong light very (very) few surface marks can possibly be seen caused by the vinyl been slid in and out of its sleeve.  Importantly, (no) needle scratches that would cause any loud constant clicks or pops very rare to find on a Stones vinyl after 52 years!!

TheAudio
I have played this vinyl prior to listing on a top system at very loud volume, importantly using a dedicated mono cartridge! The audio is absolutely superbe cristal clear and vibrant throughout! Mega clear and vibrant Mono audio on all frequencies!. (Note: At the intro to side 2. I notice two or three light scuff noises) There were no distortion, no, loud contant clicks pops or of course any jumps. Truly awesome and very rare for a 1st pressing.(NO) Signs of groovware at all! This audio is graded Near as Excellent plus to Very Near Mint in my opinion! (Very Minor Interference only)

PLEASE NOTE! I always add this disclaimer! I have played this album prior to listing as usual and have given my honest opinion on the audio quality. Please remember this is a 52 years old original vinyl (not a reissue) Please allow for the odd static/scuff/tick as mentioned (not) consistant through out the audio, perhapes only heard at intros or quieter places outros etc!,, This would have been originally played on a system that is 52 years old!
All indications i.e. that this vinyl has (not) been overplayed and in fact hardly played are the audio quality superbe on all frequencies and the fact there are barely handful of spider marks only!
 
The labels
This features the Un boxed Decca labels. These are superbe very light rubbing/markings that are only really noticed if looked for in my opinion, with barely any spidering noticed (I can barely see just a hint only) , little if (no) spindle ware! This vinyl has hardly been played at all at least just a handfull amount of times in my personal opinion!

The Record Cover Sleeve
This is the original 1st Issued orange/white Decca paper sleeve. Correct for this issue. Light creasing/fading/yellowing with age only. Becoming fragile with age. No splits or tears. The original. Note, The vinyl is now always stored separate from the sleeve.
