ROLLING STONES THEIR SATANIC MAJESTIES REQUEST 1st UK 1P/1P MONO G+/EX.
Rare very 1st UK Mono pressing of the psychedelic “Their Satanic Majesties Request” LP by the Rolling Stones.
First UK mono pressing on blue “unboxed” Decca labels.
Matrix numbers are -
Side 1. ARL-8126-1P
Side 2. ARL-8127-P1
Vinyl visually graded as Good only. It has LOTS of fine scuffs and scratches. There are no deep scratches. These light scuffs unfortunately do cause audible crackle throughout the record, more noticeable in the quieter parts. There are no pops, clicks, skips or jumps. I have play graded this on my Dansette Conquest (mono dual tube) and PYE Achoic 1005 (stereo transistor). The crackle was far less noticeable and didn’t overpower the music on the Dansette, although was still evident throughout. It didn’t sound as good on the PYE (which has a much lower tracking weight). I would say the audio grading on the Dansette was VG- on side 2 and VG on side 1. On the PYE it was probably G/G+. Thus pressing has a lovely deep bass quality that suits the tube sound of the Dansette (in my opinion)
The labels have lots of spindle marks but are free from tears, are clean and have no writing.
The original gatefold sleeve features a 3D image on the front. The outer sleeve is EX. A very small amount of bumping to the corners and the thick 3D plastic is curling upwards a bit, but other than that no issues. No splits, writing, tears, sticker marks and is pretty clean. (See photos)
Unfortunately it has NO ORIGINAL RED INNER
