    ONE OF THE ROLLING STONES RAREST LPS, GREEN AND SILVER UNBOXED DECCA LABEL. ULTRA RARE in STEREO and in GREAT CONDITION!!!!  AND PLEASE NOTE - THIS IS A 100% GENIUNE 1967 UK  PRESSING - WITH A 'GROOVED' UNBOXED DECCA LABEL. LATER ONES CAME WITHOUT THE 'GROOVE'!

ALBUM PLAYED FOR AUDIO GRADING:

Yes – brilliant! – EXCELLENT to NEAR MINT sound quality throughout!

THEIR SATANIC MAJESTIES REQUEST is a complex and varied collection of music, with many parts of the recording having little instrumentation. It is also a  famously very sensitive piece of vinyl, and hard to find in clear audio condition. Worn copies can have a lot of surface sound even on musically complex and busy tracks like ‘SING THIS ALL TOGETHER’, or ‘CITADEL’.   I am pleased to say this is a great copy, which sounds brilliant, amazing sound separation and clarity!

This great record plays up to the high visual grading and beyond. Strong, undistorted sound free of any loud pops or clicks. Channels are clean and unstressed. The record plays with staggering power, with a minimum of surface sound during the tracks. Rich and detailed sound with massive dynamics and unique mix and production. Its a fine copy and any sound blemishes are mild.   

In my opinion this album has to be one of the very rarest of the 60's to find in great condition and with relatively clear audio. I would describe this as an exceptional copy, and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this great record. On the whole this great record plays through without pops or clicks. There is some light background static in quiet areas, and occasional background crackle, but it is very light. I did notice some light pops at the start of ‘Rainbow’, but again they were light.  

Great audio with minimal interference to distract form the overly enjoyment of this great record and surprisingly little surface or static noise between the tracks.

The music jumps out, with definition and clarity, particularly on the percussion instruments, trumpets and vocals, which come through with tremendous power. As is the same with the bass guitar and drums, whilst the guitars come through crisp and clear.

A great all round example of this great  vinyl

  staggering first stereo mix, unlike the re-issues which lack the impact.    

THE RECORD – VISUAL GRADING - EXCELLENT +++

A stunning piece of EXTREMELY THICK AND HEAVY glossy vinyl. Largely unmarked apart from a few faint hairlines only. A really wonderful example

VINYL SOUND - Please Note:

Top quality vinyl with clear sound is rare, and is what I always aim for. Even with the cleanest copies you will find occasional static sound during playback, caused by a build of dust in the grooves. This is clearly different from the distortion, loud pops or clicks that are found on heavily played and worn pieces of vinyl. Any static build up will reduce when played, and I advise a light clean should be given between plays for optimal performance.

VINYL TESTED FOR ANY SIGNS OF WARPING:

Yes, NONE visible what so ever when tested be sight and on a moving turntable.        

THE COVER – NEAR MINT

A great example of this rare sleeve, the front and back have a great glossy sheen, bright in colour with intact laminate. There is no laminate creasing on the spine, the spine text is totally intact. Virtually no corner wear, the spine is near perfect, having a great shape.

The Inner gatefold is also in brilliant condition, unmarked with really bright stunning colouring and virtually unmarked.

The opening edges are very square and totally un frayed.  The back cover is nice and clean, with NO ring wear, which is very unusual for these delicate covers. Really the only thing stopping this cover being MINT is that it is slightly bowed, as can be seen in the images, and there are some light scratches across the 3 D panel. This is quite common on Satanic Majesties 3 D covers, and is possibly a result of the production process.

A great example. All round, this is a really nice cover!!!      

THE LABELS -  NEAR MINT  CONDITION

Famous and very Rare UNBOXED ‘GROOVED’ DECCA labels are in wonderful Condition, no marks or writing, light spindle wear only. These are lovely labels with the light green and metallic silver strip.

THE INNER

EXCELLENT PLUS condition, NO tears, NO seem splits and NO wear at the top. Crisp and Clean, - a fantastic example.    So rare to find an original red inner in this condition. The record will of course come in a replacement plain poly lined inner.

RARITY

A GROOVED DECCA PRESS copy in this type of condition is extremely scarce. The vinyl is so often played so much, heavily marked, scratched, with noisy, poor and distorted sound. The album sound range is so delicate it is almost impossible to find original clear sound vinyls. Any EARLY PRESS examples with a record in this type of condition, that plays with really strong sound, is very rare.

The cover is almost impossible to find without serious wear, even modestly worn examples are scarce and this one is one of the best examples I have seen. Finding a nice cover like this, with a lovely piece of vinyl, fantastic!.

MINT: Virtually unplayed. The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. Cover is pristine.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing

V.G PLUS: The record will still be nice and shiny, but may have a few light marks, and will play well. Slight wear and tear on the cover

V.G: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, etc.

FAIR: Fair. It is noticeable that the record has been played so much that the sound quality has deteriorated very noticeably. The cover and contents are showing signs of folding, scuffing of edges etc.
