Please note! This is listed for its rarety rather than for its condition! There is general ware and tare and this vinyl has been played, but haveing said that the amaizing thing is that the audio is super clear and very vibrant! (only found on the earliest mono pressings with this album) There are the odd click or pop but I only really noticed them in two tracks only and only! In my personal opinion this is very very playable indeed! Truly amaizing mono audio!, without the usual background noise or distortion that is often found with the vinyl that has been played with a poor or worn stylus!! These original 1st Mono pressings are extreemely rare to find in any condition!!!
Through The Past, Darkly (Big Hits Vol. 2) is The Rolling Stones' second official compilation album, released in 1969 shortly following Brian Jones's departure from the group and subsequent death. The name of the album is a play on a line from the KJV translation of I Corinthians 13: "For now we see through a glass, darkly, but then face to face: . . .", but it is more likely the Stones intended an homage to Ingmar Bergman and his 1961 film Through a Glas Darkly.
In September, Through The Past, Darkly (Big Hits Vol. 2) - dedicated to Jones - appeared with a limited edition octagonal-shaped album cover. Because their first compilation had been released in separate UK and US formats (with the Aftermath-era material appearing only on the UK edition), the American edition included hit singles from that period.
The UK tracklist included the more obscure "You Better Move On", from The Rolling Stones' self-titled 1964 debut EP and "Sittin' On A Fence", an Aftermath outtake originally released in 1967 on the US-compiled Flowers album. In addition to those songs, many tracks, notably single-only releases, were collected for the first time on a UK Rolling Stones album: "Let's Spend the Night Together", "Ruby Tuesday", "We Love You", "Dandelion" and "Honky Tonk Women"

The Vinyl
This vinyl has surface marks\scratches\scuffs.This is the heavier and thicker type of vinyl only found on the earliest pressings! I have played this track for track on a top system at loud volume! I was amazed at the vibrancy of the audio that this produces! There are some clicks and pops during the play of this vinyl but the clarity and vibrancy doesn't let this majorly detract from the overall experiance in my opinion. Amaizingly (none) of the usual distortion from being overplayed this sounded superbe. Very playable and rare to find 1st uk pressing!
TO SUM UP! THERE ARE SOME CLICKS\POPS BUT THE AUDIO IS VERY CLEAR AND VIBRANT ! AMAIZINGLY THIS PLAYS WITHOUT DISTORTION WHAT SO EVER!! VERY RARE FOR A 39 YEAR OLD STONES ALBUM!!
PLEASE NOTE! I always add this disclaimer! I have played this album prior to listing as usual and have given my honest opinion on the audio quality. Please remember this is a 39 years old original vinyl (not a reissue) Please allow for the odd static tick\clicks (not) consistant through out the audio! (I only noticed this through two tracks only) Please remember:::,, This would have been originally played on a system that is 36 years old!!!
