Limited numbered reissue. Dragonfly Records: only sides 5 & 6 have printed labels, disks 1 - 3 have plain black labels.
Concept, contents and title of project inspired by a promised official collection (which never materialized) of rare Stones tracks, which release would have had the same (Black Box) name. This was a fan attempt to gather together the most worthy unreleased Rolling Stones material at the time, to fill the gap left when the official compilation never came to pass.
Amalgam of radio broadcasts, TV performances, studio outtakes. Elaborate packaging, with tracklist and Beggars Banquet-style invitation tucked underneath red wraparound sash, numerous inserts. Numbered edition (see photos). Except for slight dings in one corner of invitation, packaging in like-new condition.
Vinyl on one side of one disk has blemish: probably not scratches but manufacturing attributes which would be inherent in any copy of this issue. In any case they are inaudible and do not affect play.
