Description
Rocks Off /All down the line. What this is,is a yellow label test pressing 45 with a rubber stamp on both sides stating: "45 rpm,Excerpt from Exile on Main Street, COC 69100, FOR RADIO PLAY ONLY - Promotion copy - not for sale." In the top corner of each label is a small and printed Rolling Stones "mouth and tongue" logo. There is a piece of paper glued onto the bottom of each label. One has the following TYPED wording ; "Rocks Off" (4.33)(Jagger/Richard) THE ROLLING STONES Essex Music Int. SAM 3 The other TYPE written piece of glued paper states : "All down the line" (3.50) (Jagger/Richard) THE ROLLING STONES Essex Music int. SAM 3 The matrix numbers are : SAM 3 A1, and SAM 3 B1. Along the bottom of each label perimeter lies the usual printed "All rights reserved",etc,etc. The condition of the vinyl is EX. I showed this item to my friend and renowned worldwide Stones authority, Ali Zayeri, from the Rolling Stones Museum. Although his interests lie primarily with the Decca years, he made it quite clear just how rare this item is. Although the demos of Decca singles go for comparitivly little in comparison to the Beatles or Elvis, when it comes to an unreleased UK test pressing 45 (circa 71-72) you enter a totally different league. Unfortunatly I do not have a scanner to download a picture, and although its going to be frustrating for some collectors, I have tried my best to make the description as detailed and accurate as possible. The single comes in a standard "Mouth and Tongue" company sleeve.
