Joey Paige used to get quite the promotional push from KRLA in Los Angeles and was a regular on Shindig, but it never really got anywhere, his singles didn’t even touch the national charts.
This single had every reason to be a hit when it was released in March of 1965. It’s got Bill Wyman of the Rolling Stones providing a song he’d written, it’s got Sonny Bono doing the production and arrangements, and he was pushing it on TV.
The really remarkable thing is that Joey got his pal Bill Wyman TO INTRODUCE THE RECORD ON THIS SPECAIL PROMO PRESSING. Dig that! Wyman actually uses his fame to play DJ and give Joey a boost for his forgotten recording.
This single is flipped with the Sonny Bono tune “Yeah, Yeah, Yeah.”
