ROLLING STONES
ANGIE (advance press 45)
I can clearly remember the phone calls to the radio station about the new Rolling Stones single. "Why is Mick singing 'I ain't dead'??" He wasn't, it's a new song – and it's called ANGIE (click!)
It was August of 1973, and the Rolling Stones new album was out in a matter of weeks. It was called 'Goat's Head Soup.' It was another triumph for the band, the single went straight up the charts to #1 in the US, lagging behind slightly in England at #5.
This is the advance promo sent out to the station. As you can see, it's got really plain labels, no company name, no logos, just title and artist. It's almost a test pressing. This has the same song on both sides, one is the MONO MIX unique to this 45, and the other is the STEREO MIX for FM radio.
CONDITION: NEAR MINT! Actual postage on this item is 2.50 within the US. No handling charges ever!
