ROMANO MUSSOLINI Con Nunzio Rotondo E Lilian Terry (RCA Italiana LPM 10010) RARE 1st Pressing MINT-
Very RARE Italian MONO first pressing of the Romano Mussolini album "Con Nunzio Rotondo E Lilian Terry" on RCA Records (April 1958).
Here comes one of the rarest Italian jazz-lp’s of all time, pianist Romano Mussolini on Italian RCA LPM 10010, thought to be the very first Italian 12” jazz-lp. The recordings took place at RCA Italiana Studios in Rome during October and November 1957. A great sounding recording in glorious MONO. On the first seven numbers, the pianist is accompanied by Carlo Loffredo on bass and Roberto Podio on drums. On three numbers, the trio with Sergio Biseo on bass and either Franco Mondini or Roberto Podio on drums is joined by Nunzio Rotondo on trumpet. Gino Marinacci joins the trio on baritone sax on two of these and on the last one, Franco Chiari on vibraphone is added. On the last three tracks of Side B, the trio can be heard with accomplished American jazz-singer Lilian Terry, who also recorded with Dizzy Gillespie and Tommy Flanagan, among others. The record comes with the original printed inner-sleeve with liner-notes and photos on both sides.
