Lyrically inspired by Lorca, Brecht and other classics of world literature, Jérôme Reuter has managed to tackle the topics of isolation and displacement, courage and hope whether it be political, familial or religious, all rolled into one brilliantly poetic album. Musically, the band's versatility and boldness are enough to separate them from any other group in the genre, mostly because ROME has mastered the art of subtlety and restraint. This is most likely the classic neofolk album of the noughties, now finally available on vinyl in a strictly limited edition, commemorating the 10th anniversary of ROME.
