GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie vengono controllati sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i i 33 giri in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1. Per EP e singoli a 45 giri utilizzo un Thorens TD 166 BC con testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All LPs in auction have been fully heard on a turntable Rega Planar 3 with a moving magnet cartridge Grado Statement 1. I listen EPs and singles 45  rpm. on a turntable Thorens TD 166 BC with a MM cartridge Goldring 1006. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : brani strumentali e canzoni si alternano piacevolmente. Ottime sonorità funky dal tessuto percussivo come in " Can't Stop Talkin' ", " She Said Hell No! ", " I'm Your Man ", interamente strumentali nell'esecuzione di Art & Ron e parimenti " Leroy " di Sam Shabrin. Buona musica soul con qualche venatura disco in alcune tracce quali ad esempio " Let's Do It Again " cantata da Denise Gordy o " I'm Your Man's Helpin' Hand " nella bella interpretazione vocale di Sam & Jus'Us. Infine funk, soul e un briciolo di jazz nella superba " Humphrey's Overture " del grande batterista Paul Humphrey.

Notes : instrumental tunes and songs pleasantly alternate. Excellent funky sonorities from the percussive tapestry such as " Can't Stop Talkin' ", " She Said Hell No! ", " I'm Your Man " entirely instrumental in the execution of Art & Ron as well as " Leroy " by Sam Shabrin. Good soul music with some disco flavor in other tracks such as " Let's Do It Again " sung by Denise Gordy or I'm Your Man's Helpin' Hand " featuring the beautiful vocal performance of Sam & Jus'Us. Finally, funk, soul and a hint of jazz in the magnificent " Humphrey's Overture " by the great drummer Paul Humphrey.
