DESCRIPTION

Ron Cornelius - “Tin Luck” Polydor Records PD 5011 (Stereo) from 1971. Hard to find Original First Pressing Vinyl Singer Songwriter / Folk / Blues / Country / Classic Rock album from Ron Cornelius with help from Joe Davis and Paul Distel. Although not well known to the general public, Cornelius played on numerous recordings by the likes of Bob Dylan, Al Kooper, Loudon Wainright III and Leonard Cohen who’s band he led throughout the 1970s and with whom he co-wrote “Chelsea Hotel No. 2". He was also a member of the band “West” who’s album “Bridges” is considered to be something of a Classic. On the Red Polydor labels and in the Original Cover with NO Cutouts, promo markings or Barcode. Includes the Original Printed Polydor Inner Sleeve. This is a Monarch First Pressing as indicated by the  Runout Vinyl / Matrix markings that read:

CONDITION

The Sleeve is in good shape. There is some fairly slight shelf wear and corner softening/wear. There is a small red dot in the upper left corner and the bottom seam is part split about 1/2” from the opening edge. Super solid with no other splits, stains, tears, cutouts, writing, etc. and would rate VG. The Vinyl is in clean Glossy condition looking lightly played. If you look closely you can spot a few light scuffs and a couple faint hairlines - no actual scratches i.e. something you can feel with a fingernail. VG+ visually and plays mostly better with just a few spots of faint groove noise that might well be improved with a better cleaning than I can give with my Discwasher brush. The Labels are Near Mint.

TERMS AND DEFINITIONS

Records are graded to the best of my ability to Goldmine Visual standards. If I provide Play Grades it is done as a courtesy but I only guarantee the Visual Grade. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding. I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words:

Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.
Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less! If you are not satisfied that a purchase meets my description, I will do what I can to make it right if you give me the chance and work with me! Please feel free to check my feedback.
