Description

Colpix CP-486 (Promo)
”The Ronettes” - Ronettes (1965)

This is the famous Colpix LP released to cash in on the group’s work with Phil Spector, which was in high gear by this time. This is a WHITE-LABEL PROMO copy!!...Released in January of ’65, cuts included are:

He Did It
Silhouettes
Good Girls
The Memory
You Bet I Would
I’m Gonna Quit While I’m Ahead
I’m On the Wagon
Recipe for Love
My Guiding Angel
I Want a Boy
What’s So Sweet About Sweet Sixteen

These songs constitute all of the pre-Spector work by the Ronettes, including songs on May, Colpix, and Dimension (which, by itself, is a toughie to find on 45), and those done under the name Ronnie & the Relatives...The record is a beautiful NM with no scuffs or scratches , the WHITE PROMO labels are clean, and the LP cover is VG+ with wear around on the corners, and has a “Audition Record” stamp on the back!! – No seam splits, stickers, or writing, though (see scan). Although it does not have a promo designation on the label, I am assuming this is what Colpix put out for their promo issues (and, of course, the stamp on the back of the cover, mentioned above, also leads me to think that this is a legit promo)...

The Goldmine Promo Record Price Guide’s book value for a NM copy is $1000.00 – However, with the release of a Stereo re-issue on Murray Hill Records, this LP has lost alot of its book value, and the Reserve on this item is close to past high bids that did not win, so go for it!!! This is a definite MUST for every Girl Group/Ronettes collector or the Spector completist!! Winner pays Priority Mail in the U.S., higher overseas... PAYPAL ACCEPTED AND PREFERRED. Satisfaction guaranteed.
