WHEN RONNIE Lane left the Faces, few thought that he would abandon his drunken hard rockin' credentials and opt for a laid back rural country rock vibe. Thankfully, his stylistic volt face didn't result in half baked hokum but actually produced some fine authentic music mixing country, folk and rock in one glorious trick bag strenghtened by good songs and super authentic arrangements.

This album is arguably his finest work. Songs such as 'The Poacher' and 'Roll On Babe' have gone on to become standards in a career splattered by many high points. His backing band, Slim Chance, consisted of some great players including Benny Gallagher and Graham Lyle. Truly one of the best albums that I'm listing in the coming weeks - highly recommended and not a weak song in sight. I love the album cover - two totters on a horse drawn cart surrounded by concrete and cars.

Vinyl: Beautiful clean condition. One or two spindle marks but virtually no other signs of use. Grades as MINT-!

Cover: Again, virtually no signs of use. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Just a hint of storage wear. Beautiful and impossible to find like this 42 years after release. Grades as Ex+
