ITALIAN MUSICIAN FRANK FAZIO was an amazing virtuoso, who elevated the humble banjo to concert hall quality. NOT with flashy runs and fancy fingerwork, a la Harry Reser, but with spot-on, unbelievable aplomb, incisive timing, deadly accurate pitch, beautifully centered intonation, and perfect note placement. To call Fazio the Bix Beiderbecke of Italian banjo players would not be an exaggeration. His records all are gems, things of thrilling beauty, which ALWAYS satisfy!
He plays with this fantastic, unhurried mastery on "ROSE DI MAGGIO" (polka) and "MIA ADORATA" (waltz).
This original 1928 Green Label Columbia 14362-F is in ever-so-slightly worn V++ condition
PHOTO: This MAY be a picture of Mr. Fazio - I'm not sure. It was on the cover of a reissue LP featuring some Fazio tracks. [UPDATE - SUN. JULY 24 -] A very helpful eBayer informs me that this picture is not Fazio, but one of GIOVANNI VICARI, another ace banjoist of the Italian persuasion. Come on! Is one photo of Frank Fazio, this superbly accomplished musician, TOO MUCH to ask for?

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing! My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value. I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all. If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will! Shipping is done with expert care. Your record will brave Media Mail in a stout corregated box, between four sheets of cardboard and a couple of “packers.” I hope you are amused by these descriptions, and by the quality of service being offered.
