Without Brian Eno, Roxy Music immediately became less experimental, yet remained adventurous, as Stranded illustrates.
Under the direction of Bryan Ferry, Roxy moved toward relatively straightforward territory, adding greater layers of piano and heavy guitars. Even without the washes of Eno's synthesizers, Roxy's music remains unsettling on occasion, yet in this new incarnation, they favour more measured material, whether it's the reflective "A Song for Europe" or the shifting textures of "Psalm."
Even the rockers, such as the surging "Street Life" and the segmented "Mother of Pearl," are distinguished by subtle songwriting that emphasises both Ferry's tortured glamour and Roxy's increasingly impressive grasp of sonic detail

LABELS: NEAR MINT
Clean, bright and unmarked labels with only one or two light spindle traces. The spindle hole is still quite tight - barely been played
VINYL Visual: NEAR MINT
Both surfaces are practically unmarked and shine like new
VINYL Audio: NEAR MINT
Sensational sound - crystal clear, clean, bright and fresh and my play-check at loud volume revealed no major audio issues of note - just the lightest touch of background surface on some of the track divisions and the (very) occasional minor static tick (neither of which are at all intrusive) - lovely copy
SLEEVE: NEAR MINT
The deeply glossy gatefold has a glass-like finish to both the outer and inner surfaces with just a little record impression on the back. It still creaks when opened (so I did't open it out flat for my photos for fear of cracking the laminate on the internal spine). The edges and spine display no storage wear and the whole sleeve has the fresh feel of a brand new cover
