GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie vengono controllati sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i i 33 giri in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1. Per EP e singoli a 45 giri utilizzo un Thorens TD 166 BC con testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All LPs in auction have been fully heard on a turntable Rega Planar 3 with a moving magnet cartridge Grado Statement 1. I listen EPs and singles 45  rpm. on a turntable Thorens TD 166 BC with a MM cartridge Goldring 1006. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : musica composta e diretta da Roy Ayers. Una delle migliori colonne sonore funk degli anni '70. Il grande talento creativo del compositore, ottimo musicista funk, soul e jazz nonché vibrafonista e cantante, perfettamente coadiuvato da straordinari interpreti strumentali e vocali fra cui primeggia il tastierista Harry Whitaker, in un elettrizzante, fantastico album di grande black music. Nessuno dei tredici brani lascia indifferente l'ascoltatore. Fra questi : " Exotic Dance ", dalle continue distorsioni della chitarra elettrica su un ritmo aggressivo dettato da basso e batteria, " Making Love ", tema soffuso guidato da una tromba a tratti jazzeggiante, " Coffy Is The Color ", con un incredibile gioco ritmico delle tastiere ed un ottimo drumming, " King's Last Ride ", breve ma emozionante per la chitarra con pedale wah wah e il ritmo veloce sottolineato dalle percussioni, " Brawling Broads ", raffinato funk su un tempo musicale moderato con un ottimo piano elettrico ben supportato dal basso. Infine " Shinning Symbol ", bella canzone soul interpretata da Wayne Garfield.

One of the best funky 70's soundtracks. The composer’s great creative talent, influential funk, soul and jazz musician as well as vibraphonist and singer, perfectly supported by exceptionally gifted instrumental and vocal performers including keyboardist Harry Whitaker, in an exciting, terrific album of great black music. None of the thirteen tracks leaves an indifferent mark to the listener. Among them: " Exotic Dance " with continuous distortions of the electric guitar on an aggressive pace dictated by bass and drums, " Making Love " soft theme at times led by a jazzy trumpet, " Coffy Is The Color " with an unbelievable rhythmic play from keyboards and an excellent drumming, " King's Last Ride " short but captivating tune due to the electric guitar with wah-wah pedal and the fast pace underlined by percussion, " Brawling Broads " sophisticated funk at a moderate tempo with a fine electric piano well-supported by bass. Finally, " Shinning Symbol " great soul song performed by Wayne Garfield.
