MEGARARE and HARD-TO-FIND original “Minigroove” Philips Records very first Mono press released, made and distributed in Chile late 1961 by Philips Records, catalog number T 263 255 F, with machine etched matrix numbers 263-255-TF-A T1 in Side 1 and 263-255-B P1 in Side B, with rare white/black Philips Records labels and push-out center. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!! Amazing rarity for all lovers, fans and collectors of Roy Hamilton and early days of rock’n’roll!!!

The first to tell about this single is that here in Chile we got it the same year it was released in USA, 1961, with push-out center and white Philips Records labels. The song titles are written in Spanish, translated to English, with full credits for songwriters, rights society, play time of each song, additional credit for arrangements and direction for Sammy Loewe for song “You Can Have Her” and cash price, E° 1,38, printed in Side A!!! But the most interesting fact to notice is that in original US issue of “You Can Have Her” the song in Side B is “Abide With Me”, but here in Chile the Side B is his 1957 hit “Don’t Let Go”, so you can see that only in Chile these song were included in a single!!! So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE single by Roy Hamilton RELEASED IN CHILE ONLY!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE!!!

This record doesn’t have a cover. The record is in nice VG+ or EX- condition both sides, glossy and clean, with soft scuffs, hairlines and very light scratches, which don’t affect play. Labels are in G+ or VG- condition the Side 1, clean and clear, but with the border from top to the right side peeled, with the rim text missed, and in EX or EX+ condition the Side 2, complete, clean and clear, with only minimal wear and the push-out center intact. The sound is a really nice surprise, it’s in great EX or EX+ condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with only soft crackles and some very occasional light pops here and there, which don’t cause any distraction from the great sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, this is a great record in this MEGARARE CHILEAN PRESS with push-out center, maybe not for strict Minty minds or audiophiles, but sure it’s still in a great condition, with still an amazing sound quality after about 60 years, which shouldn’t disappoint anyone!!! And don’t forget this record was RELEASED ONLY IN CHILE in 1961, the push-out center is intact and it has white Philips labels!!! Yes Sirs, what a FIND!!! We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
