***MEGA RARE 1967 U.K ORIGINAL - STRIKE LABEL***
This is an Original release of the first album released by ROY HARPER entitled 'SOPHISTICATED BEGGAR' which was released on the STRIKE label.

I have tried to show photos of the record and sleeve to give a fair showing of condition but here goes:
SLEEVE - VG- (Slight wear to the spine and small amount of damage to the top right corner, approx 1 cm in length. 535 written in biro on the rear top right corner. But otherwise in Very Good condition)
RECORD - VG+ (Does have a few surface marks but nothing that affects the playing of the reocrd)
LABELS - EX+ (No apparent wear or damage to the labels on either side of the record)
A SMALL PASSAGE ABOUT THE ALBUM THAT I FOUND:
1966's SOPHISTICATED BEGGAR is Roy Harper's first album, and although it's almost by necessity a bit weak and tentative in comparison to more fully-realized later efforts like FLAT BAROQUE AND BERSERK or STORMCOCK, it's nonetheless a remarkable debut. Entirely acoustic, with none of the rock influence so important to his later work, this is Harper's folkiest album, and his trademark acoustic 12-string sounds terrific in these stripped-down surroundings. The songs already show flashes of the humor, bile and quirkiness of later Harper albums, and tunes like the tender "My Friend" and the howling "Committed" reveal the songwriting paths Harper would take in the future. All in all, SOPHISTICATED BEGGAR is that rarity, a debut album that doesn't deserve to be repudiated by its maker.
