ROY HAYNES/SAHIB SHIHAB/QUINCY JONES "JAZZ ABROAD" mono lp on EmArcy/Mercury MG 36083 Orig. US issue 1956 VG/VG. (New dealer: Please check my About Me page).
I would grade this LP VG. I will only auction VG condition LPs that are “classic recordings” or just very old, interesting and hard-to-find LPs. These records will probably have a healthy amount of play and visible scuffs or lines that do affect play. The record still plays through nicely; it’s just an obviously much appreciated recording. THIS IS A VINTAGE COPY (pre-2000). This is a very clean copy. Side 2 plays out VG+ and about 80% of side 1 is VG+. But I did detect a few light pops on side one and a little more defined snap crackle. So it is a keeper copy for sure. It's two separate sessions. The HAYNES/SHIHAB session: ADRIAN ACEA; JOE BENJAMIN; AKE PERSSON; BJARNE NEREM. The QUINCY JONES session: ART FARMER; JIMMY CLEAVLAND; AKE PERSSON; LARS GULLIN; BENGT HALBERG; SIMON BREHM; ALAN DAWSON. A West meets Europe kind of thing. Excellent music. A nice collectible mono.
The Jacket: (I don’t rate any jackets with my initials NM) No initials or stickers. A very functional jacket. I would rate the cover VG overall with corner and seam wear. A 3" top seam split and a 1/2" bottom seam split. Some of the glossy jacket wrap is starting to flake but very good for a 50+ yr. old jacket overall.
