Description

ROY ORBISON AT THE ROCK HOUSE ORIGINAL SUN RECORDS DG MONO VINYL  LP 1260.
1st U.S. pressing released in 1961, compilation of Sun recordings from mid to late 1950's with added vocal and instrumental overdubs by Sam Phillips.
Rare and hard to find, this is a well used copy but plays well. Super heavy weight on this version with deep grooves.

VINYL in G+ condition, plays close to VG, has several light scratches and hairlines that are not feel-able.
COVER in VG with solid seams and spine, old water damage to bottom portion with warping/yellowing (see photos). Corner bumps/damage, yellowing/staining on back.
Notes: Label variant:
• Extra space between "ROY ORBISON" and track-list:
• "MICROGROOVE Side1" is printed in plain text at right.
'Deep groove' pressing-ring 2.84" edge-to-edge.
Another version has no space before the track-list, and "MICROGROOVE SIDE 1" is printed in condensed boldface, all caps.

Roy Orbison at the Rock House is the first album by Roy Orbison. It was released in 1961 by Sun Records at a time when Orbison had already moved to the Monument label but had not yet put out an album. Sun Records owner Sam Phillips had a collection of songs Orbison had recorded at Sun between 1956 and '58.

Sam Phillips (2) is here credited Written-By for many of the songs, but actually are all these songs written by Roy Orbison.
