Roy Orbison 1956 release SUN 78rpm #242 "Ooby Dooby" b/w "Go Go Go"
This 78 was among hundreds of other new 78's that was part of the retail inventory of a closed up record shop in NYC, that we bought back in the 70's. The record shop only sold new records. This Sun record is in it's original sleeve, and I found a new/unused Juke Box title strip inside the sleeve. On the "B" side, the record has a few minor scuffs, a light scratch in the blank ending portion of the record approx 1" long - The "B" side has what looks like a slight "etch" mark about 40% into the song - I believe it was done while being pressed. Please see the images. I believe this may effect the grooves and I'm not certain the record will skip or not. I do not play these records, but It's possible this record was used as a "demo" at the record shop. However, it makes sense that it wasn't retailed, due to the new condition of the title strip, and the record being in the original sleeve. The "A" side is fantastic, near perfect. The overall condition of the record is excellent; the minor issue details are on the "B" side (Pricing of the record reflects this) The labels are bright and clean.
I pack these records very carefully - they are surrounded by 1" thick rigid foam along with bubble wrap and foam peanuts. To be shipped USPS Priority mail, includes tracking number and I insure it for full sale value.
