Beautiful and highly collectable limited edition box set release from audiophile label, Classic Records. NINE one-sided vinyl records pressed on 180 Gram vinyl. All-Analogue Half Speed Mastering from the original Master Tapes at 45 RPM.
The best sound, ever, for this legendary RCA Victor Living Sound, "Shaded Dog" audiophile masterpiece.
Numbered Limited Edition (#1-0305)
Box contains nine individually sealed, one-sided, 45 RPM disc, gatefold of the original RCA cover along with 24 page booklet inside with credits and the story of The Royal ballet.
Condition: Laminated, unsealed box has VERY light shelf wear. gatefold cover inside is like new but stapled inner booklet is attached but a bit loose with the two staples. Only one of the ten records inside has had it's plastic sleeve opened and that looks to be because they slipped a Classic Records hype-postcard inside. Record has NOT been played. Other nine records are new and still sealed in their original perforated plastic sleeves.
Review: The Royal Ballet has historically been the most highly sought after of the RCA Living Stereo releases. Recorded in Kingsway Hall by the legendary Kenneth Wilkinson, this title features selections from The Nutcracker Suite, Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty among others. The performances are conducted by Ernest Ansermet directing the Royal Opera House Orchestra and the sonics are incomparable.
