ROYAL KINGS garage soul 45 REVERB "Got2BU" fuzz ~HEAR
Artist: The ROYAL KINGS
Titles: “It’s Got To Be You” / “Do The Tighten Up”
Label: ReVerb (Roanoke, Virginia). Label is hot pink with blue text. Catalog number is ARS 107.
Year: 1968.
Note: Very cool record, but also somewhat difficult to categorize. It has distinct elements of soul (dance beat, horns, group backing), garage rock (fuzz guitar) and Carolina beach music. I have provided sound clips from both sides, so give it a listen and see what you think.
Condition: “It’s Got To Be You” grades NM- with 100% of original gloss. Has been played a very small number of times, perhaps once or twice, and handled with care.
B-side “Do The Tighten Up” would grade NM- except for two very small marks at the very beginning of the side that produce a few ticks, after which the side plays NM. Fidelity is superb. Labels are clean and pristine.
