Description
A nice and complete condition example of the original 1965 UK reel to reel 3 & 3/4 ips mono tape release of "Rubber Soul" by The Beatles complete with "Emitape" leaflet and the packing slip. Even the small green and gold Parlophone sticker and tape retaining sticker are present. Cat No TA-PMC-1267. Released at the same time as the original vinyl album in 1965.
A complete reel to reel from the retailers in the 1960s came with the green and gold Parlophone sticker, the Emitape leaflet and the packing/batch slip (for return if found faulty). They were bought by special order by audiophiles who sought quality sound - an indication that they were rare purchases in comparison to the vinyl long player record, and consequently rare collectors items today. Unusual to find in complete and nice condition.
Clean, no split corners to lid and base, intact and unbroken spool, clear printed leader tape, no pen markings/writing.
Pink star tax code to the top left of base. This indicates it was returned to EMI by the retailer as unsold, and was there to refund the retailer his purchase tax paid. The reels were supplied by EMI on a "sale or return" basis.
Played and tested - perfect. Emitape leaflet and warranty slip like new.
