Description
This auction is for an out-of-print and unavailable copy of Rudimentary Peni's "Cacophony" LP on Outer Himalayan Records. This came out in 1987 and has been out of print on vinyl for years. This was their last recording before the state-imposed psychiatric incarceration of Nick Blinko; his music silence lasted until the release of "Pope Adrian 37th Psychristiatric" in 1995. "Cacophony" was a concept album, themed around the works of H. P. Lovecraft. The lyrics here are some of Blinko's best (especially on "Nightgaunts," "The Horrors in the Museum" and "Musick in Diabola") and the cover art is a fantastic visual interpretation of HPL's "The Music of Erich Zann." Unlike the CD version, this LP has the full lyrics in an 8-page 12"x12" booklet. Simply an amazing record on every level. I would never get rid of my copy, but I recently bought two friends' record collections and this is one of the many records I already had that I now have duplicate copies of. If you don't like Rudimentary Peni, you're no friend of mine! Buy or die.
