UK Release date: 7 July 1967.  Recording date: June 1967.

On offer here is a VERY RARE original UK issue of the debut 7” single by British band RUPERT’S PEOPLE.  “Reflections of Charles Brown” is an organ-driven ballad with some similarities to PROCOL HARUM’s “Whiter Shade of Pale”.  The flipside “Hold On” includes some biting psychedelic (acid) guitar & swirling organ, which all add up to an impressive hard rock number.  The primary band members on this particular 45 were also members of underground rock band, THE FLEUR DE LYS.  The second & third singles by RUPERT’S PEOPLE were recorded by a completely different line-up.

visual: VG- beautiful glossy sheen—numerous insignificant hairlines & light surface scuffs, also few surface scratches that DO NOT AFFECT PLAY (seen under strong light).  The minimum bid has been lowered!

audible: sounds superb overall despite a few completely insignificant pops at very beginning of side 1 only (side 1: EX, side 2: EX+).  A HIGHLY ENJOYABLE LISTENING EXPERIENCE!

labels: moderate spindle wear + small tears located: (1) left of ‘45’ & (2) above ‘CONDER (MUSIC) ENT’ (side 1) / heavy spindle wear + ‘TODD’ written above centre hole (very hard to see) (side 2).

sleeve: original UK “Columbia” sleeve.
