RUSCIGAN (ALIAS FOR GUIDO BAGGIANI) - ORCHESTRA DIRECTED BY PAOLO RENOSTO - APPUNTI DI GUERRA on CANOPO (CNP 0069) from 1975
Description: Top rare Italian library from Canopo archive from Rome. For years rumored to be Piero Umiliani, but looking at siae database, all compositions are directed and arranged by Guido Baggiani (real name of this RUSCIGAN alias) and Paolo Renosto (real name of the famous LESIMAN). Renosto touch in this LP is pretty unique and clear! Amazing library created to document various war scene in a way pretty unique. Expect so very dark, dramatic and sinister atmospheres based on echoed drums and percussion with several avant-garde improvisations. Let's start with the drama experimental "Attacco" with mechanical rollin' breakbeat, the creepy obsessive and repetitive rhythm of "Macerie", the stubborn sound w/ manipulated distorted FX of "Tensione", the moody and very complex atmosphere of "Agguato", the echoed drumming w/ percussion of "Attesa".. and so on. The closing track “violenza” is simply amazing! Very rare LP, probably pressed in very few copy. Rare!!
A note for this LP: the original picture sleeve of this LP is pretty unique. I purchased this copy from a personal archive of Ayna label owner. Few of these LP contains this unique lithography on the front cover by Ettore Prinloro (?). All these stamps are hand made and unique, intended to be a gift. I know only another copy that is “Ritratto D’america” by Grossman with a similar lithography.
Conditions: Original picture sleeve cover is VG+, rare stamp hand attached in the middle visible on picture. A small residue of sticker removal visible over the attached stamp. Record is EX+. Label clean, promotional copy stamp in it. Superb production sound, spare copy from a personal collection.
