Description
Rush "Entre Nous" double A-side STEREO PROMO 45 on Mercury 76060 from 1980. It appears that this 45 may have a label error, which is that it lists a "Short" and "Long" side, but the labels state that both run 3:45 in length. I didn't time each side, but there's a couple things that point out that this does have a short and long version. The first is that you'll notice that the intros of both sides are at two distinctly different volumes, the first side in the clip attached below is at one level, but the second side is much louder, which may point out that the first clip shows the long version (the longer the side, the lower the volume, so that the sound in the grooves doesn't bleed into the next), and the second clip appears to be the short version, as it is much louder, which is OK, as the grooves can be spaced further apart. The second point that makes this appear to be a "short"/"long" version, is that the matrix numbers on the labels match what is etched into the deadwax area of each side - The 2-55993 side listed on the label as "short" shows "2-55993-A-PRC-R-1-1- 1" etched into the deadwax and the 2-55775 side listed on the label as "long" shows "2-55775--A-1" and "PRC" etched into the deadwax. This 45 comes in the original Mercury Records halfsleeve.
The labels on this 45 state FOR PROMOTIONAL USE!!! The white and light blue labeled vinyl on this 45 is in excellent - NEAR MINT condition with a few whispy sleeve marks and light scratches.
