Description

Legendary and iconic progressive rock band Rush formed in their country of Canada, in 1968. The first album was released FIFTY years ago, in 1974. That first album included the very first drummer John Rutsey. Four months after the record came out, Rustsey had to retire from drumming due to health ressons. The band needed a drummer to tour that debut album, so in walked Neil Peart. This lineup, of Neil, Geddy Lee, and Alex Lifeson would record every Rush album until the band called it quits in 2015...

By 1975, Rush recorded its second studio album, and the first with Neil, and the world saw what an amazing lyricist and drummer he was! The album's great, and rocks in a slightly different way than the debut album does.

"Anthem" and the title track are great songs, and "By-Tor & The Snow Dog" is progressive hard rock at its finest! And the album cover's artwork is a beautiful owl, and looks awesome.

In the mid 2010s (exact date unknown), a 12" picture disc LP for that second album was released. There's Japanese writing on the backing card, though it's believed to be a European made collectible. Wherever it was actually made, or what year it was born, it's still a rare and scarce collectible, and a quality, factory made picture disc! It's a thick and heavy 180 gram vinyl, and comes with a discography backing card that ends with the album 'Hemispheres'.

The vinyl itself looks fantastic, with only a few very light surface marks on both sides. Nothing bad, and hardly noticeable (visible only in a bright light and up close). No deep scratches, gouges, or scuffs. The colors pop out at you! The backing card looks good, as well. There's a tiny bit of shelf-wear on it, mainly on the corners. No holes, rips, tears, or bends. No handwriting on it, at all.

These do not pop up very often, and when they do, they go quick! If need a copy, grab it while you can. These early Rush picture discs look great on display! Bring home Alex, Neil, and Geddy today. Vintage rock and roll album artwork from nearly fifty years ago is always impressive!

(RIP Neil Peart and John Rutsey. Both of you were important members of Rush. John was the spark that became the roaring fire, and Neil was the fuel for that fire. Thank you both for the legacy of great music, and both of you are missed!)

Ask me about combined shipping when you make multiple purchases.  If there are any problems once you receive your item(s), please give me a chance to make it right.
