Description
VARIOUSLY ACCOUNTED as the greatest mandolin virtuoso on the American stage, DAVE APOLLON (1897 - 1972) was not about to let anyone think different, even billing himself as "The World's Greatest Mandolin Virtuoso." A master of the stingy little stringed instrument, and a real showman, Appollon had a rewarding career in Vaudeville, radio, films and television, that lasted from the mid '20s till the early '60s.

ON this record from his first session, for American Brunswick, Apollon and his band assay "RUSSIAN RAG" and "MANDOLIN BLUES."
This original 1932 English Brunswick 1321 is the contemporary (master pressed) equivalent of the American issue, and like that record, is fabulously scarce!

I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all. If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will!
