Description
A RARE FIND! "Flowers of Evil" (Limelight LS 86066) is a pioneering piece of avant garde electronics from little-known American composer Ruth White. While most of her career was dedicated to educational recordings, Ruth White is perhaps most famous for being an electronic music pioneer, most notably for her early explorations of sound using the moog synthesizer.
"Flowers Of Evil" contains readings from French poet Charles Baudelaire's "Les Fleurs du Mal" with electronically treated vocals, tape-collages, spooky synth drones, and dissonant electronic backdrops.This is a definite collector's piece for those interested in early electro-acoustic music and occult/curio items.
This is an original pressing with some cover wear: A promo "bullethole," top and bottom seam splits (partial), and a bit of blue ink on the back cover (see photo). The disc itself is in excellent condition (a couple of light scuff marks, but no visible scratches) and has rarely been played.
US & Canada Shipping: $9 for 1 LP by insured Priority Mail OR Media Mail for $4.00 for 1 LP. As media mail is a very slow method of shipping and uninsured, I cannot guarantee safe delivery by this method and strongly recommend paying extra for the much quicker and safer Priority Mail.
International Shipping: $16 for 1 LP airmail without insurance. Because of problems with the Italian Post Office, I highly recommend either insured or registered mail for all Italian orders and cannot be responsible for any order shipped to Italy without one or the other of these.
