Rachmaninov Cello Sonata Vocalise Schiff Dutch Philips 412 732-1
Henrich Schiff and Elizabeth Leonskaja play Rachmaninov’s “Cello Sonata” and “Vocalise”, Sibelius’ “Malinconia”, and Dvorak’s “Polonaise”. A Dutch stereo recording on the Philips label (412 732-1), the record is of immaculate appearance. The cover has some creases with some minor stains (sticker) near the tight-hand side, and is otherwise in excellent condition.
This record is one of a collection of records that had never been played. Some are sealed*, some have a store seal** and the rest are in mint condition.
* very few records outside the U.S. were ever shrink wrapped and it was only toward the end of the LP Era that this became common.
**Some record stores in Australia before being placed on their racks would attach a seal, either to the opening of the cover, or over the inner bag.
