Description
Radiohead’s 2007 masterpiece is the rare album that feels intimate and enormous at the same time. In Rainbows trades the icy distance of the band’s earlier experiments for warmth, movement and some of Thom Yorke’s most emotionally direct performances.
“15 Step” opens with a crooked electronic pulse before “Bodysnatchers” tears through the speakers with live-wire guitar energy. “Nude” is weightless and devastating, “Weird Fishes/Arpeggi” builds into one of Radiohead’s most hypnotic recordings, and “Reckoner” floats on shimmering guitars and ghostly harmonies. By the time “Jigsaw Falling Into Place” erupts and “Videotape” brings everything to a quietly haunting close, it is obvious why this album remains a modern classic.
Pressed on a single 180g vinyl LP, this XL edition carries the original “PEACHY ABBEY ROAD” Side A cut paired with the later HL Side B recut. It is a beautifully sequenced album designed to be heard from beginning to end—romantic, restless, immersive and unmistakably Radiohead.
